Just finished the 22/23 season. Finished 10th, with Watford getting to the FA cup quarter finals and the Europa League final, which we lost on penalties to Chelsea

No europe for next season, but a new stadium (originally called Watford Stadium) has just started being built, with a capacity of 41k. Pricey mind with monthly repayments of 875k for 10 years! Decent enough season, a whole bunch of players want to move on to further their careers though which is a pain, but i've already got decent enough replacements for them all if they end up leaving so not particularly fussed, especially since i'll likely make a huge profit on all of them.

 

Been putting of FM15 for ages, never made it passed pre-season as i didn't like the interface. Thought i'd give it one last crack...

I can't actually get my head around just how good Troy Deeney is. It's sickening. I take him off almost every game after he scores so the others actually get a go and he still manages stats like these!!!

would anyone here be interested in a network trinity game? 3 managers, udinese, granada, watford. would be a slow burner for sure but anyone interested?

Following promotion, have decided to keep the faith and only brought in Vydra on a permanent deal and Panos Armenakas, the 16 year old Ozzy that we lost to Udinese last summer. And Juanfran... who i'm less than thrilled about. Everyone has signed new deals to keep them happy except Troy Deeney who is holding is together at the moment but won't enter new talks, but the moment he does... he's gonna get a bumper pay rise.

 

What team would be your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice?

 

Preferably not be Watford, but not fussed about which i'd rather be out of Udinese/Granada.

 

Haha that helps! I'd be happy with any of them, so I guess we just see who the third player wants. Granada will certainly be the hardest.

i wanna say yes, but network games can be long and tedious so i'd rather have a watford fan player as it's a bit more engaging. one person drops and the game is over :/ sorry man

I don't understand why you turned Filbert down? Just because he isn't a Watford fan - he can't join? Were you that kid at school who owned a football and wouldn't let others play as you didn't like them?

 

It's not like that at all. Network games die easily and takes just one person to drop for the whole game to fall apart. A watford fan would (generally) be more engaged in the game due to scenario and also, with all due respect to Filbert, thats the first post he's made to this group so it's hard to know how much he plays the game. I'm not saying it's gonna be a 7 day of the week game, but a network game needs players who play often. Otherwise, you're stuck waiting for the other players to press continue and it turns out they've just gotten bored or moved onto a different game. It's not as conceited as you've worked it out in your head mate.

 

What do you think about the increase in injuries in the new patch? Have you noticed it?

Another 2 first teamers leaving in January...Another £41m in the bank though. Despite so many first teamers leaving at the end of the season we've had a cracking start to the season so far, with my ridiculously young (average age of the squad is 21..) sitting in second place with a third of the season gone!

 

Has anyone had a season in the premier league where Watford HAVEN'T been taken over, Pozzo wants to retire so I'm wondering if it's set in stone that a takeover happens. I really, really don't want to be taken over.
