So we’re all just speculating. Regardless of what fees are/aren’t paid, loaning Ferreira to Udinese doesn’t appear to make much sense on the surface.
With no replacement this is absurd. But if he is replaced with a player Val likes then it makes more sense. I’m troubled by the timing on the eve of the season and do think recruitment should be done early, but we have to view the club’s business this summer in the aggregate, once complete.
To be clear, I’m against this move. But it is not consistent with asset stripping or putting the club up for sale or whatever. It is potentially consistent with cost-cutting.
In terms of lack of incomings as people have been happy to some extent to see many go even though clearly Italy not a re set. Just getting rid of who we can .
I am almost certain the club will be thinking Ngaka is absolutely fine back up to Andrews and little else. Pretty clear we are trying to do things as cheap as possible this season.
VI doesnt know it yet, but the player VI would like most in the team is the one Gino & Mogi tell him he's having. Or not in Ferreira's case.
Well that answers the question I posed after the Peterborough game as to which of Ngakia and Ferreira started at RB, and so which was likely being shipped out. More concerning than Ferreira being loaned, is the subsequent indication that Ngakia will therefore be first choice RB ahead of Andrews.
Manga has already admitted in the interview he gave a few months ago that he screwed up with the signings he made in January and had under-estimated the Championship. In light of that I don't think this is undermining him. At the time we signed Ferreira I also don't think anyone was really expecting we already had a talented young attacking right back in Andrews who could be used.
AL confirms club has no intention to sign a further full back and it will be Ngakia and Andrews. Along with our Cdm options likely being Livermore and Sierralta, I truly am starting to believe we will be relegated this season.
I’ve all been for operation debt pay down but this current move is nonsensical and frankly disgusting. It’s nothing in the grand scheme of things and weakens us severely. Ngakia is woeful. And they could quietly make it permanent in January for a million. Can hardly argue given they paid £16m for Kamara to stop Pozzo having the embarrassment of defaulting on his payments last season.
I honestly think it's got to the point where Duxbury and Pozzo are gambling on there being three worse teams than us in the division this year. Absolutely bleak.
Yep starting to think it's this, but I really am not sure there are. Think reality will hit home a little after QPR tear us a new one on Saturday.
QPR lost 5-0 to Oxford on Saturday. They are in awful shape. If there are only three worse teams in the division, QPR are probably one of them.
Lots of posters wanting us to be debt free, and to have a core of British players who may not be as talented as mercurial foreign fancy-dans but try their best, even if it means a return to mid-table Championship obscurity. Well, welcome back to that.
I mean to be fair QPR seem absolutely dire in pre-season carrying on from where they left off last time. Whoever wins on Saturday (if someone does win), could be one of those false dawns you have on day 1 of a new season.
Only way I can see it makes sense is that Ferreira wouldn’t have been first choice and is too expensive a luxury as a back up. Ngakia is a poor back up but hopefully won’t be needed. It’s only a loan so option to bring him back next season but as others have said he may just hate the champ and rainy wet UK !
They've attempted to quickly adress their awful pre season by rushing to bring in Colback and a centre back in time for the game Saturday. Chair and Willock will run absolute havoc against Sierralta at 6 and most likely Ngakia RB.
Cardiff are under a transfer embarago and still managed to sign Aaron Ramsey, Karlan Grant (who we looked at), Ugbo, Meite still pushing for Kieffer Moore. Absolutely no guarantees we'll finish ahead of them or Plymouth tbh. Also worth pointing out that from January the 1st over 22 games Huddersfield got more points than us. That was when we had Sarr, JP etc. See even you removed Cardiff when you realised it could easily happen! Birmignham have money and have recruited well now too.
I am confident we will finish above both. Don’t think the Cardiff players you name (save Moore) get in our XI and they have a manager who has never coached in the division before. Huddersfield are just relying on Warnock magic, but he is much better coming in in the middle of the season than starting up. Plymouth are a well-run club but it’s a big step up for most of their players. Which of their players get into our XI?
