Well that was dissapointing, great tournament amd some very enjoyable results along the way.

The lack of secruity at Wembley was crazy, it was all over social media that hundreds, if not thousands were planning to storm their way into the stadium.

 

We have made progress under Southgate. 2 semi-finals and a final is better than any England manager. The top sides always seem to have better technicians than England, and we need to develop better players in that regard. The way Italy we’re pinging the ball around last night, meant we had to play on the break. The supporter in me wanted us to go for it, and play more attacking- but that approach would have meant we would have lost earlier. I was surprised Mount was left on for so long, just don’t know what he added.

 

Agree, but the bigger issue is how, knowing that this is a cesspit of falseness, we have a Government and a variety of media outlets, like Talkshyte, GB News, the Fail and the Express that play to the audience for it.

Fortunately, the public has made its mood clear and none of the little shytes involved are repeating their baiting today. If the England Team won anything from the tournament it was the battle over making anti-racist statements.

 

It does make me smile this new notion that the England football team represent bright enlightened politics.

Our situation over the past 20 odd years has been weird in a way. Wally with the brolly aside we’ve nailed qualification and then always at least get out of the group. Over the same period, Italy, Spain, Germany and France have either failed to qualify, not gotten out of the group, or finished bottom of their group, yet also won tournaments inbetween. The Dutch to a lesser extent have reached a WC final but then also failed to qualify for a tournament.

We’re far more consistent than all of them, yet can’t bloody well nail the important bit. I’d certainly take missing the odd tournament to win one like Italy!

 

I refer you to the last part of my comment - it made me hungry. If it's a general common term and not slang then i'll delve a little deeper.

This notion that we've made "great progress" as a team is such utter b*llocks. Are people completely blind to the actual draw we've had in the World Cup and the Euro's, or is it just convenient to ignore it in order happy clap?

We've beaten (scraped by) teams with inferior players to our own, and then Southgate has completely **** the bed both times we've stepped up to face some quality and exposed his own blatant limitations and weaknesses.

Saying we've progressed because we've made a semi and a final, and then had a mare in both, is far too black and white and completely ignores the bigger picture and our actual performances.

 

Perhaps the Norman Wisdom run up could be perfected.
