This was a scandal of epic proportions for denmark.

I watched it live on telly and it was with great disbelief seeing Denmark fight back from 3-0 down against our arch rivals, to actually having a chance at winning the match. Only for Danish midfield Poulsen to decide to punch Markus Rosenberg in the penalty area. The ref sent Poulsen off and awarded Sweden a penalty (and rightly so). And then things went weird. A Danish fan ran on the pitch for the ref - reached him and almost managed to jump him before Danish defender Gravgaard cut him off.

The ref then decided to call the match off after 89 minutes, at 3-3 and with Sweden having a penalty.

Now it seems Denmark will lose 3-0 as a result of the scandal - and I hope we do. Such behaviour cannot be condoned. It means of course we won't qualify but this disgrace must have consequenses.

Just seen it. Still think the referee was an old woman for calling it off. He should have shown some bravery and carried on - not like he was actually struck. Sure, the mad bacon-eater got close, but that was it.

True - but to be honest I feel you need to set an example in these cases. and that chap will not be popular in Denmark for the next few years.

Oh I don't condone the actions of the fan. But a much better way to beat the idiot would have been to allow the penalty, Sweden ram it in the net and you lose anyway. There were only 3 mins to go! If Sweden miss then football has resolved the issue itself. UEFA would still have had to deal with Denmark by way of a fine. Football results should never be decided by men in suits unless 110% necessary. And I don't think it was in that case. The referee never even stopped to think or consult with the safety authorities.
