Ex Luton as you will probably know. Presume he must have played against us a few times in the local derbies of the 80s/90s. Died aged 44 according to 5live. I know we should dislike him as a player because of the Luton connection but really this is a human being who has lost his life at such a young age.
Died aged 44. But more importantly scored against us in a 4-2 win in the early 90's and generally run (like luton that day) the midfield . . . . . .so no sympathy! R.I.P David Preece.
Cracking little player who I saw many times for your lot against us. I can't stand Luton but Preece was quality. Didn't he come from Walsall ? They were some great games in the eighties and good players on both sides. Preece is gone but not forgoten. Still can't stand Luton though !!!

throat cancer according to the report i read. Had it before, got it fixed a couple of years ago and then this time round was reported to be in hospital 5 days and then died.
Just about remember him, little player, left footed I think, was a good player in the middle of the park. RIP
