it was the right decision but then mclaren screwed up as i heard he picked aron lennon on the left of midfield
He was not able to play because he was injured but he should of never been dropped in the first place. it just goes to show what idiots the english public are and most on here. they blame him for the world cup for why i dont know and then they wanted him dropped, then he gets dropped and people want him back. ginger balls is an idiot for dropping him and i hope he gets sacked soon.
after reading aflynns post id like to clarify i dont blame him for anything but im a big one for bringing in the young players and hence want aron lennon and swp to get some games
The thing with those two is that they both will only play well for 10 mins and then you dont see them again as where beckham with his crosses and free kicks can be a threat for 90 mins.
i dont know its just a case of we all know beckham was getting worse as a player and i think aron lennon especially is getting alot better more consistent for spurs now and playing for his country more will surely only help swp on the other hand yes i agree we only see him for ten minutes in a game but i think thats down to him not getting games at chelsea so i hope he moves as its clear from his man city days hes got talent
Agreed. I remember many games where David gave 110% for the full 90 mins. I'm not convinced leading by example is the right way to motivate the team if the manager is as mild mannered as Sven was. If however you've got a complete nutter ala Pshyo as captain then it could have worked. Alternatively a Manager with a bit more balls. Think there is something to be said for the good cop, bad cop routine.
If hes not in the starting 11 he should at least be on the bench , some argue that he does no have enough pace , although when the rest of the midfild have pace , it does not matter as much.
To be fair, Becks had played crap for many of his last few games and didn't deserve to be an automatic choice, which is the key thing. None of the "stars" of the side can feel they have a divine right to play, but when on form they should be selected, according to the system. I don't think Becks should neccessarily gave played every match (if fit), but it was stupid to just cut him completetly. It smacks of a large publicity stunt. On the flip side, I don't think he is our saviour and can turn things around, just by being picked. Our problems lie deeper.
He played a major part in 3 of are 6 goals in the world cup and people say he played bad. Were not scoring as many goals as we used to it all points to one thing beckham should never of been dropped.
It was some sort of PR stunt by McClaren as if to show he's ruthless, if he was ruthless then Lampard would have been dropped along time ago. Beckham on the right will allow Gerrard inside with Hargreaves and Lennon or Cole (when fit) on the left.
He would have been in my squad but not as a starter. I would have him on the bench as a sub replacement for Hargreaves ahead of Carrick, where is needed, he could sit behind the lead central midfielder and pass the ball around and get a tackle in.
too true and rooney must be pushing to be dropped as well now. weds gives Mclaren an opportunity to be ruthless but i just have visions of defoe in for johnson and cashley cole back in for carragher
