Apparently a Czech International who has been on trial with us this week is due to sign today according to The Watford Observer? Anyone have any more info on him?
Other than the Watford Ob says that we've pulled out of signing him, not really. He plays for Slovan LIberec, and is 21. I refuse to do research.
It's Pudil - I made that mistake on the other thread. Also the WO says we won't be signing him but Aidy will monitor him over the next few months. Czech U21 who has played against England and now made the step up to the full national squad and regularly keeping his place. Plays for Fc Slovan Liberec and recently got a three game ban for a nasty off the ball incident with another player. Which followed two days later by getting arrested for drink driving. I can't understand why Aidy's not taking up the option - he sounds perfect for us. I expect to see him playing for another team in the Championship in January
The name poodle comes from the German word Pudel, which is short for Pudelhund, which means "splashing dog". This reflects the breed's former use as a retriever of water (the word Pudel is related to the English word puddle). He would have been great - a retriever of water - that's taking the pi$$.
21 years old and already in the Czech International squad... that's quite impressive. Question is, do we really need another midfielder. With Williams and Francis back from injury in October/November (just guessing) we would be packed (Rinaldi, Williamson, Mahon, Bangura...). On the other hand, Aidy may have finally spotted the problem we have with Mahon - he's needed because we lack other defensive 'anchor'-type of midfielders, but he's not performing well enough.
There is only one place going in the centre of midfield between about 5 or 6 midfielders we have. Mahon shall not be moved :]]
The 21-year-old left-sided midfielder from Slovan Liberec has been on trial at Vicarage Road this week but the Hornets boss decided against matching the £1million asking price. Boothroyd, however, said he "will continue to monitor the situation" regarding the youngster who made his Czech international debut against Belgium in February
Take it back, seems like he was just what we needed then someone to challenge Stewart and Smith/Jobi/Macca
