We weren't xxxx for 87 minutes, GoingDown. It's that tackle on Pereyra (got me worried initially) and Cleverley's red card that made us lose focus after that.
What the **** was Kiko doing at the end -did he really just walk off and go down the tunnel leaving us with 9 Men
Let's look on the bright side, the snow is still on the ground and we play Huddersfield on Saturday so we may see another great team goal!!!
Are you seriously kidding me Watford? What the hell was that??????? I was in the kitchen making a sandwich with us leading with minutes to go, went to answer the front door and come back to learn Palarse won!!!!!! I’m speechless... How can anyone not defend TWICE in a matter of seconds? I don’t care about how bad the ref was but that was totally unacceptable even for us. I hope Silva gave them hell at FT and he keeps it going back to Hertfordshire. I feel sick... how the hell did we lose that? Why is Deeney still first choice now? I could of scored that chance he missed. Silva SORT THIS OUT NOW or we are heading for a relegation fight after a strong start. Um not even confident we can get a draw next game let alone win. Huddersfield must be lining up now to head here for three points. I’m so ****** angry right now.
It's totally normal to feel frustrated and pissed off, especially when we look pretty assured against a decent attacking side for the majority of the game. It was once again a pathetic capitulation and we definitely should have won tonight and against Everton. However, people saying that they want the manager sacked and that they're going to stop going to games have somehow managed to make themselves appear even more pathetic than the team were tonight. We'll absolutely murder Huddersfield on Saturday and the same people will be talking about Europe again.
Of course performances matter, we aren't playing for one game, we have another half season to go. And because we have to sort out 6 minutes, not 96. We were playing against Zaha, Benteke, Loftus Cheek, Cabaye and they didnt get a look in for 89 minutes. That isn't to be sniffed at. But look, I understand the disappointment, but it wasn't as if we were outplayed. We were the better team, despite playing with effectively 10 men for the whole game.
Yup. Picked up injury and went straight down. Poor from him and from Silva rushing him back knowing he's injured.
I don't tend to read the pre-match threads on here much, but if anyone was saying that they were being very silly.
Same old, same old. How many times have we been here? Pretty much everything has been covered so I'm merely venting my own frustration. We've just handed one of the worst teams in the division 3 points. How many times do we seem to do that!! Our defence has been rubbish since the 2nd half of Flores' season. It was cack last season, and now that we play in a system dominated by attack - it's been exposed even more. Don't know if we can blame Deeney for the glaring miss, or the decision to take him off and replace him with a man that looks like he'll never score again. Either way - we need at least 2 strikers in January, not one. Okaka has to start on Saturday. If he can't do 90 mins, sub him after an hour. Not upgrading him to a world beater - but we can't continue with the current two. Sadly, I've more chance of getting a game. Our injury record is appalling, our recovery times to injuries are appalling, our discipline is appalling. Something needs to change. Huge test for Silva. Is he the great coach he's praised as, or a flash in the pan that got lucky earlier in the season and at Hull? I have a horrible feeling our relationship with him will end in tears. Saturday is a must win. Not draw, win. A defeat - and I suspect the atmosphere will turn quite nasty (by Watford standards). When all's said and done - the players we have, even with the injuries, should not be losing that game and should be doing better. Make no mistake - our current form is bottom three form. I don't care how many points clear we are - unless there's a quick improvement, we'll be dragged into it. And would anybody trust this current bunch with scrapping its way out of a relegation battle?? Disappointed, despondent, fuming, fed up and sick of seeing the same old crapfest recur time and time again when in a winning position.
Are you for real? Can say that for almost every game this season that we've lost, I don't give a ****. If we make it to 90 mins and we are winning then manage to lose, then **** the performance.
I understand and I won't stop going forever, I just genuinely need to detox from it for a while, it takes me an hour and a half each way and I need a break. I'm not having a go at the team or anything, but two defeats that I haven't seen from any other club this season other than us in the Premier League have done it to me.
I got the munchies.. I’m going to try to think this was all a bad dream and I’ll wake up tomorrow and find we won... we won... we won.. wake up Skyla wake up... oh ***** reality hurts
Remember two years ago 2015, we had a solid defensive unit of Gomes, Nyom, Cathcart, Pr*dl and Aké. Pragmatic as QSF was, we weren't exciting to look at but we looked solid. It concerns me not knowing the extent of CC's injury or YK's. We still haven't found the real balance yet. Interesting who we might get in January
First of we have a habit of doing great in the first 20 minutes of most games also very likely to go ahead . We definitely need another striker Deeney isn’t in form and Gray can’t find form . I still think Deeney has something to offer , and has done so much for us . We have had the most red and yellow cards again this season so far , wich tells me something . Also why bring on half injured players a very stupid move if you ask me . Capoue , has scored twice from subs this season and has scored from being started . He has his off days but so does everyone. We definitely need a leader at the back , who can read the game better if we get this we will be just fine . Even like this we will still stay up 13th place .
watching the 'highlights' ...Championship at best, from both teams. If Richarlison was a clinical finisher he'd be worth £20-30m
Yeah but we didn't let them score for ages in the game. We get extra points and big back slaps for that.
Getting any kind of forecast from our abysmal medical team about CC or YK seems optimistic. Prodl was our for 3 months with a “knock” ffs.
Here's Silva's post-match interview. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42332210 Yes, the red card was a key moment, but it was so late in the game it should not have made a huge difference. Other teams do not fold like this on such a regular basis. We were the side that was taking points from games in the last minute and people were saying how good Watford's mentality was. Now they seem to be a completely different side, that's vulnerable as soon as something (rightly or wrongly) goes against them. Tonight's game can happen to any side once in a blue moon, but for Watford it's all too regular.
There was a point in the second half when the ball didn’t touch the ground for at least minute as we exchanged headers with each other. I thought to myself at the time that we were both back in the championship.
I don't expect us to win every game, just be competitive. However, Deeneys remarks following the Arsenal game have really come back to haunt us.
That's it for me this season. I will look out for the results, but l not interested in a another dismal season. You can feel the way the season is going. The result tonight is shocking. We are seen as a team that runs out of steam, ideas and are too easy to score against. I have had enough this past few weeks. I had hoped for better this season, but we look 5hit and clueless as last season. Tonight was a turning point in my feelings for the team. I now stand by my earlier posts of Watford being in a relegation battle for 2017/18. A terrible night for the players, the fans and the club itself. Silva needs to take a good long look at what is going on aand make changes or face the sack. A piss poor effort tonight and an embarrassment all concerned with the club. I am done for the season. The rest of you enjoy it.
Looking for patterns, it isn't too difficult to find some: Too many red (and yellow) cards; too many injuries; too many goal-scoring opportunities presented to opposition players around the edge of the box are three that immediately come to mind. But Silva inherited these traits - they were already happening when he came here. So who's to blame? Surely a good coach will, amongst other things, improve players. Ill-discipline covers more than just naive or dirty play. It also applies to self-discipline: We need a greater show of calm thinking when under pressure, a greater show of purpose, a greater strategic and tactical awareness and a better planned and carried out flexibility in responses to changing circumstances during the course of the game. Throwing away the lead against both Everton and Palace at times when they are at rock bottom takes a special kind of fragility, which probably involves all of the above aspects. A repetition of the last two seasons already looks on the cards. Maybe there are some players who need shipping out in January.
Actually they played ok and Palace did very little second half. We had opportunities to kill the game and didn’t. It’s being 1-0 up in the 89th minute and losing that makes me hate football. That and the fact both my trainers have a hole in them somewhere and my feet are soaking
