When we had richarlison, we often criticised his constant diving. We have spent the last few weeks criticising success for the same thing. Palace fans would rather eat their own kids than accept old wilf likes a good dive. Pretty pathetic to delude yourselves so completely But then looking at their thread on capoue, they seem a pretty pathetic bunch
This is Paul Doyle, the guardian journalist who wrote the article about Zaha. His article may be horseshit but his photo is a very helpful and cautionary tale: never go muff diving with superglue around your lips and chin. As his photo shows, the results can be catastrophic.
Don't know about you lot, but I'm really looking forward to the first player to touch Zaha getting booked as a reaction to Deeney's tactical fouling interview.
Love the fact 2 of his 4 bookings for diving have come against us. Shows how much a noisy crowd drawing attention to a player's cheating can make all the difference.
Im going to say something nice about Zaha here (hope I dont get banned). Zaha goes down a lot because he is so terrific. He is fast and runs at players at high speed. A clip on the heel or a nugde to the knee is enough at speed to topple over anyone. Heres the catch though, a clip on the heel isnt necessarily a foul - its a contact sport and theres no way that Zaha can run into the path of a defender, go down and get a free kick every time. Like everyone else hes got no "right" to go down. He has no right to play the part of poor old Wilf who never gets all the free kicks he deserves, hes never been injured in a tackle and theres no mob of Deeneys and Capoues out to get him. Hes a flower blowing in the wind. But Wilf thinks hes persecuted, he thinks hes a target, so he makes sure when hes fouled everyone knows about it. Id say hes 2nd in the fouled list because he wins fouls, not that hes kicked most, theres a difference. Theres also another reason he and Hazard are most fouled, they take the most runs past players. Give me the stats for fouls against dribbles attempted to get real information from the data. Its like saying ben foster never gets fouled so hes not targetted.
A truly gripping preview, what a tale. Beautiful. Tough one to call, I'd like to think we've got a good chance of getting something out of it, either way it seems inevitable there will be cards and goals. And whatever happens, we will go again.
Maybe it's me, but I'm struggling to find the link between Zaha's antics and Scarlett porn. I suspect that Doyle has a particular interest in Scarlett porn
Despite a mild dislike of Zaha, my animosity towards Palace from the two Wembley games has largely dissipated. Probably due to them being such a dull team of mundane players, most of whom I couldn't name. No one will weep a tear when they slide back the Championship where they belong. I'll go: Palace 0-9 Watford Capoue (sent off 5), Deeney (sent off 10); Deulofeu (22, 78), Pereyra (26), Sema (44, 87), Foster (52, 57, 65, 71) Dull affair.
I had a quick look on my break at the Palace forum, mainly for team news etc.... I ended up browsing through it for a good 20 minutes and laughing quietly to myself, they are a right sensitive bunch on there.
"I barely saw a Watford fan all day (other than at the other end of the stadium obviously ). Was 100% palace all over Marylebone and Wembley before and after. Great day" He's got a point. I always travel from Harrow to Wembley via Marylebone, as do my mates from Leavesden and Hemel. It was a very poor show.
Who said I'm not going tomorrow - these guys need to catch up 'pfft'....?! As we all know I walked away. I was then requested to attend a meeting with Scott Duxbury in which I returned to the role as Match Day Harry. Therefore only missing the Utd game as 'Harry' but in the Rookery never the less. Palace had no involvement in me walking away, funny thing is we beat Spurs soon after and I for one will be there to support the boys tomorrow... COYHs Gareth
Yeah but you came back for our gubbing by Muff for which I hold you personally responsible. Only kidding. However, while you're here, can you stop trying to get 'Yellow Army' going with your drum as it sounds stilted and rubbish.
You really shouldn't compare a few morons on social media as representative of an entire team's support. They like us have their fair share of Herberts but I've always found the vast majority of them friendly and reasonable. As for Saha, yes he dives who doesn't. I find his obsession with God bothering more alarming.
Sorry but I'd prefer to believe it was down to our new rivals. I think we need to settle this once and for all. A face off with Kayla the Palace eagle, 10 mins before kick off. The result of the match afterwards will be an irrelevance.
Yeah - pray before the match Wilf. God couldn't be bothered to stop the holocaust or countless other wars, but he's got a special interest in you picking up 3 points.
I love this club! The fact that our chief executive, a very busy man, has taken the time to call you in for a meeting so you would carry on, is just superb.
Must win game. It's long overdue that we put these perennial strugglers to the sword on their own ground. Tomorrow could be the day. 2-0 to CP (Zaha 1, 89)
