Last season in the Championship... Games played.....18 Points earned......29 And this season in the PL... Exactly the same! Incredible!
The stream was I was watching showed a graphic with distance covered on it and about 10 minutes after he'd left the pitch Jurado was still 3rd on the list. All 3 shown were Watford players too.
Don't know never come across the radio station before - was trapped at the inlaws only way I could find out what was going on - certainly seemed to have changed their tune now though
Not sure what game you were watching mate, whilst Chelsea did look the better side after they scored their 2nd, the 1-1 at the break was the least we deserved as we had four or five good chances before they scored against the run of the play. They did miss a penalty but we could have made it 2-3 late on and the only way they really looked scoring was from a set piece or a lucky break. Having just two shots on target all game doesn't sound like a side deserving to win by two or three goals to me.
I haven't heard anyone say a bad word about him today. Well, apart from Moog. But that doesn't count, obviously.
We actually got to 29 points last season after our 15th match, but games 16-19 were the 4 defeats in a row we suffered. So we have exactly the same number of points from 18 matches this season as last, and a point on Monday would mean we are better off! In 2015 as a calendar year, we've only lost four away matches, and two of those were in January so it's 2 away defeats since February!
Agreed, we had more than enough chances to win the game comfortably, probably more clear cut chances than they did. I think you watched a different game to Gus Hidink too, because I'm not sure why he felt the need to take off Fabregas for Mikel if our attack was doing that badly.
And unbelievably we've scored more goals than them, so if we hadn't got a bit sloppy against Villa, we'd be above them at least on goals scored!
Jurado was superb today . Thriving on the freedom he's being given to roam inside to the centre of the pitch.
You're probably quite right. I'm naturally pessimistic when I watch Watford - so when Chelsea are attacking, it's me panicking and not our defence. Feels like the same thing at the time...
I'm not sure if I watched another game to everyone else but Jurado still have the ball away far too often if you ask me. One notable example when he ran past Ivanovich with the ball, but checked back and it was stolen back from him. He was ok today but I think everyone is getting a big carried away.
I must be spoiled because I'm a little disappointed Chelsea were much improved (isn't everyone under a new manager) but we were sloppy at times Good point away, who'd have thought 4 points from our hard December!
My thoughts on the game Britos motm. Immense performance against a very good side Jurado not far behind. I change my mind from what I said in the classy players thread: we actually have 2. That bit of skill he did was sensational My campaign to have watson out and behrami in is over. Watson was ace, behrami nearly gave me a heart attack If we have no chance of signing ake then I say play holebas every week. I really enjoyed his performance and he will only get better. Why should we improve Chelseas player for them Drawing 2-2 at the champions is the result of the season so far for me. I'm beginning to think we might not go down... Our fans were LOUD non football side point: imperial wharf is full of hooray Henry *****ers
Also I disagreed with the subs yet again. Don't think jurado looked like he needed to go off and we needed the fresh legs of gueds earlier. If I'd been manager we'd have won it honest...
Today was our first point at Chelsea since 1989. It was only the second match of the season in which we've not won a match in which we led, and also the second match of the season in which we've not lost a match in which we were behind. After drawing our first 3 matches of the season, today was only our 2nd draw in the 15 matches since. In both those draws, our opponents missed a penalty. Ighalo today became our first player to ever score in 5 successive top flight matches. That includes the old first division, as well as the PL. Today saw Jurado's first assist since the opening day of the season. By avoiding defeat today, it means we've gone through 2015 with just 4 defeats on the road, two of which came in January. So that's 2 away defeats in 11 months. It also means we've only lost consecutive league matches ONCE in 2015 (Leicester and United)
Yeah but then football is a funny game. That sickening last minute OG possibly gave the players the motivation to go on the run they have. Maybe without it we'd have followed a different course against Villa, Norwich and Sunderland...
I was impressed with Holebas, in my mind is written him off, but he stepped up today I sold my soul to corporate hospitality, and from where I sat, the Watford fans were truly awesome...loud and proud. One of the stewards said it was the best showing from away fans all season.. My roast beef wasn't rare enough.
I had an odd exchange with a seemingly livid baldy coked up 60yr old Chelsea fan outside the ground who was sweary and shouting inviting aggro from us as we left. "What's that facking bouncing all about you nonces?" was the more intelligible comment. When I stood my ground and challenged him as to why he was being brave from 50 yards away, he almost weeped, "We started the bouncing, that's ours". Poor deluded fat geezer - he must have taken out a copyright? It was hilarious that he was so upset to draw against us. Holebas was brilliant. Jurado was good - an ace away from breaking away yet got turned over and robbed which lead to their equaliser. Everyone played well again. I love Gomes. The fat lino on the far side was abject and the ref all too keen to give anything Chelsea's way. That said, Capoue was lucky to escape a ban and yellow for a deliberate early handball. Which is probably why Matic didn't get a card for the penalty as he was on a ban if he got one too. I'd like to see Diego Costa's late clearing out of Cathcart as people around me were saying it was a two footed red card tackle, not a yellow? Amazing to think we can feel slightly disappointed to come away from Stamford Bridge with just a point as some do when Chelsea can pass and move as good as they do! If Ighalo had scored any of the two chances he had in the first half before Chelsea scored, i wonder what might've been?
Excellent all round, Britos an absolute rock and Holebas impressive considering how rusty he must be Behrami back to his very worst traits
Great game of football and we gave the Champions a good few shocks and looked the better side for long spells. I personally don't like Costa but his first goal was decent. I thought he looked slightly offside for their second and it looked like Jurado was fouled by Ivanovic in the build up to it. Capoue also, so close with a lovely rasping drive. One of those games which could have gone either way but a draw was a fair result.
Amazing result and what a run we're on. It's been said already but it's spot on, it doesn't matter where Chelsea are in the League they're still a team of world class players that can turn it on whenever they wish!! Clearly since Mourinho's departure they've wanted to turn it on, which made this the WORST possible time to play them, especially at their own ground, but we came out with a very creditable point. I predicted 5 points from our 4 x-mas/new year games and to have 4 points already with two still to play is brilliant. Let's just hope we're fresh enough to take on a young in-form Spurs side. It'll be interesting to see the side he puts out. Ake will come back in one would imagine, but it was great to hear Holebas played well today. I can see Anya starting and possibly Gueds? I've seen Behrami's challenge, what the hell was he doing? Got away with that. Is this the reason he hasn't dislodged Watson from the midfield!? Classy player but seems to lack a bit of discipline at key moments (Swansea at home 1-0 up and today). Delighted Iggy and Troy are on the score sheet again, this only increases the fear factor for opposition defences. Roll on Spurs, another point would do just fine thanks.
How close was this to 'adding insult to injury'... http://www.101greatgoals.com/top-st...ous-penalty-miss-for-chelsea-v-watford-video/
Never underestimate Watford.Times have changed for the better.Enjoy the ride. This team has everything and gives nothing less than 100% every game.Top performance today so proud to be a Watford fan and always have been but more so now than ever.
So if you are now more proud than you've ever been, would you say you weren't as proud as you could've been in the past?
I predicted a draw and am so proud of the whole team. Well done. Never in my wildest hopes at the start of season would I have expected us to be matching top teams week in and week out. Spurs on Monday will be a real test. Let's be that 12th man. Another point will be great. 3 would not be a surprise.
