Shame. I was a big fan of his. My older brother loved watching 'Sale of the Century' when we were little.

Only 60 too. No age at all. Always came across as quite a decent, honest and humble guy who could quite happily take the piss out of himself.

Meanwhile, arch-******** noel edmonds lives on.

Blimey you must be young. I hadn't even been aware he did this. Cheggers Plays Pop and Swap Shop for me.

This was in the mid-'90s. He didn't do it for very long, but it was long enough for me to remember it.

Great all around TV personality and a genuinely warm and friendly guy to meet too. He will be missed mainly by people from the 80s through the 90s but to his credit he came strong after the debarked naked jungle thing he did...

Remember him on Big Breakfast and was always a good laugh although his jokes were awful at times.

My sincerest wishes to his close family and friends. RIP

    RIP Cheggers.

His dry delivery in this scene is one of the funniest things I've seen:

Always funny, always a bit cheesy and always came across as a nice feller.

    Shame

I was properly gutted about this, I’ve got used to losing my heroes from the 70’s/80’s to Operation Yewtree, but I’m sad when one passes away
Also hadn’t realised that comedian Sean Hughes and Celeb Chef Antonio Carluccio have also both sadly left us this year.
