Does everyone on these boards play FM because I prefer CM immensly. Never mind...If anyone on these boards plays CM and have downloaded the new patch please tell me if it works all right because with CM06 I downloaded the patch and it kept freezing so I was wondering if anyone has trouble with the new patch. Oh I don't know...this is one crime I'd consider bringing back the death penalty for. I didn't realise there were actually people who willingly played CM. I casually assumed they were all slaves and employees of Eidos, chained to desks in vast underground computer rooms.
Some people still think that the current CM is still done by SIGAMES and that FM is just a copy.....silly people
Only played it briefly and it wasn't horrendous just not a touch on FM, championship manager was good before eidos and sigames split. Joyous times have been had in the 00/01 and 01/02 era.
I remember the 00/01 and 01/02 era, my Watford team was a force to be reakoned with. TonTon Zola Moukoko a fantastic player who would score 30+ goals a season. I once sold him for £50 Million

Championship Manager is pathetic, Eidos thought they could carry it on living off the name which promptly back fired.
Time to rouse up a lynching mob i feel, if we set out with a tight 4-4-2 formation, sign luka modric and a few random scandinavians, then we'll teach him the FM way before hanging him from a crossbar!
This could turn into some kind of cult game at this rate, nothing like a good lynching mixed with FM memories to get the heart racing!
who remembers the red one, forgot which season but i think it was 01/02 To Madiera - one of the greatest finds ive made ever on a manager game vitaly aleshchenko - another great find but took ages to get a work permit
Probably one of the finest editions ever. No major changes from the previous version meant they were just able to tweak a few bits and concentrate on improving the gameplay. I still have the odd game on 01/02 even today, it's a timeless classic.

One problem with CM01/02 To Madeira, To Madeira himself was actually a researcher for SI, put himself in as a joke and ruined the game for me, no better than putting yourself in with full statistics.
To Madiera was amazing! Another one of those superstars was Sigporsson from KR Rekjavik. He could get at least 30 goals a season and that was if you played him in goal.
Sigporsson was an absolute legend, you could get him for £20k and he'd easily get 40 goals a season. Mads Jorgensen and Kennedy Bakirclioglu were another couple of gems, and the swedish keeper Matias Asper. What a game that was, such memories of 16 hour sessions.
