    Striker Henry 'to join Barcelona'

Barcelona are set to sign Arsenal striker Thierry Henry for a fee believed to be about £16m, according to reports coming out of Spain.
The player's agent, Jeff Weston, told BBC Sport: "The SEM Group have no comment to make."

An excellent deal for Arsenal I feel. Though he's undoubtedly a class player and will be missed by the Premiership this last season proved his fallibility. Being injury prone is something you can't shake easily. Plus they'd have never got £16m in a years time once he'd passed through the 30yo barrier. He was wasted at Arsenal really given their current focus on young, up-and-coming talent.

Call me crazy, but I think Arsenal will struggle to finish in the top half of the prem this year

Maybe they're so blinded with Henry lovin' that they don't see the reality.

Agreed, im glad hes leaving. Im not one of these poofs that want him to stay for their beloved premier league and its reputation.

nor me im glad his gone, but i dont think arsenal will be better off for it instead theres a good chance that they might strugle to get in the top 4 this season, and then lose there manager, and the other top players at the end of the season.

All this talk about the effect it wil have on Arsenal, you are forgetting the deal that Barcelona got on him, i don't know how they managed to pull it off but well done to there mangement, if you can get Henry for the same price as Bent

Being Danish I am curious if Wenger will buy a direct replacement or if Nicklas Bendtner will get a chance. I think he could be good enough even if he is only 19.

As UEA has said- good business by Arsenal - they sold Vieira at the right time and now Henry.

Biggest worry for Arsenal is when Wenger decides to leave at the end of the season.

It's not really about where they finish in the league though

I'm talking about the deal for Henry, which as a neutral I think is excellent. He's nearly 30, has been a crock for most of the season, has barely scored an away goal for 3yrs, struggles against physical players like Terry and deep down no player should be bigger than a club - even a club and player as famous as Arsenal and Henry.

Arsenal may well finish lower down the league without Henry but they'll have £16m that they'd have never gotten again. In fact one more injury prone season would have halved his value I'd say.
