I’m going for 1-2 to Watford , Burnley with a penalty just before the break. Watford come out second have very well organised , Hopefully Chalobah has a early sub appearance. Goal scorers , Kensema , Gray , ( Vidra ) Pen just joking
I think we win 2-1. Deeney and Hughes. I think they'll be focused on Pereyra (per Dyche) and Gray (per their own egos) and the other two will thus have freedom.
I just hope we have learnt our lessons. We all know how Burnley play. Long balls, crosses into the box and set pieces. Go 1-0 up and defend for their lives, try and break on the counter if the opportunity arises. We know this, our players should know this, so don’t go giving fk’s away in dangerous positions that they can score from. I saw on Sky Sports yesterday that we have the tallest team in the league, so we really shouldn’t be conceding much from set pieces if our starting positions are correct. I think we do have a great opportunity to go there and get three points, we just need to go 2-0 up because then they really have to push out. If we’re winning 1-0 they will still be able to play their game and rely on a long ball, cross or set piece to get them back into it. If we get at them early and force them onto the back foot then we have a great chance. Go there and allow them to dictate the pace of the game, they will win. We have to set the benchmark, not relent from it and not allow them to slow the pace down. Heart says 2-1 win Watford Head says 1-0 win Burnley.
So Deloufeu is still crocked, despite being a couple of days away from being back this time last week, and Chalobah has started training with the first team again, but isn’t in good enough condition to be considered.
They’ll give an estimated return date of next week, then the week after, then the week after until the seasons finished. Then we hear that they received a foot and knee operation for what later transpired to be a fractured elbow. They’ll never play for us again.
You have my deepest sympathy. I am sitting in the Brun Lea drinking the Pendle Witches Brew as I write. Nothing like getting there early. Btw. where's Lancy Claret got to?
Just make sure you stop off in Chorley for a massive p1ss up and leave a skiddy dump in the local toilets.
'Cedar of Lebanon' - that's what it is. It would date from when the park was a part of the Earl of Essex's estate, I would think. Yes, I like it, too. But how about the avenue of very old Lime trees running from Whippendell Woods to where the Earl's stately mansion used to be . It was pulled down in the 1920's, which doesn't particularly reflect well on Watford as a town, I'm afraid, when the estate was broken up. 'Your' tree and 'my' trees would all be clearing 200 years old would guess. Sorry - just read the other posts.
This reminds me of eating a zinger burger at a service station near Chesterfield and the women on the table behind me were reminiscing of egesting in a carrier bag in a bus the previous weekend in Mansfield. They were about 40 as well.
That would be perfectly typical of us to do. Have a great game, defend hard and press them back then Deeney hears an ice-cream van jingle and loses concentration for a second trying to remember if he left £1.00 in his tracksuit for a 99p with flake. Vydra robs him then does a solo run past a bemused midfield and defence to smash a screamer past Foster. Good god, please don't happen. Back to reality, I think we are due something away, and our last semi decent away performance was actually at Man Utd last season. Play like that with a bit of spark up front and we can get something here. 1-1.
Disappointed no good news on Deulofue, we got away with it last week, without him and no new injuries obtained, Sunday will be a hard game, but the best chance we have of getting something there due to them playing 120 minutes yesterday!
I think we have more chance v Burnley with the same 442 It's not the game for Deulofeu to come back or the new guys to come in
Agree. But next week Javi will say "there is no news on injuries because the 4 injured are still injured". It's all he can say because the useless medical team don't know what is going on. Consequently poor old Javi has no clue.
