According to today's People wants out of Barnsley in the summer. I think we could do far worse than this guy (we have far worse) and would be a good foil for either Eustace or Williams in centre midfield next season! I'm not judging it on his FA cup heroics this season at Liverpool and Chelsea either...his goal record over the past two season speaks for itself. He got into double figures last season, and is in double figures this season (playing in a struggling side)...not a bad return at all! Think he takes their set-plays aswell? Thoughts?
Not a bad shout but I'd guess the less imaginative managers who've sat scouting via the tv will be in for him in the summer. Barnsley won't be able to keep him until they go down.
Because all the strikers we have at this club are better than him, just because theyre not all banging goals in doesnt make them league 1 standard

Eustace and Williams are both holding players....Francis on his day is good...but sadly he's always f**king injured!
I would like to see him here, might be what we need. Personally I think Campbell Ryce could be a good one too for back up for Smith, and even poss start infront of McScuff.
No way on Ryce and Peas, I remember him as well thank you! Howard is a good footballer in the middle of the park, definately good enough for a top champ side and would fit in a sort of Cavalli style play (obviously not 4ft 8 and 5ft 10 round!). He is definatelt not the left winger a lot people are asking for, though left footed.

Only day this season ? What do you expect in the few games he did play on returning from injury he was never going to be firing on all cylinders he'd been out 7 months and his season seems to have been scuppered by injury again.
Of course it was his only day this season. He's been out injured for most of it. Wasn't he our top Premiership scorer and second top at assists?
Cannot comment about a Tax Dodging Mod - but I can state that Francis is a tackle dodging mid - fielder, not worth the money and a feeble failure, top of the stats or not.
Another case of a fan who fails to appreciate players who don't charge around throwing themselves around.
personally dont rate francis (or many of the midfielders we have atm), as for Brian Howard, if we stay down yes, if we go up then no.
He'd be a decent enough signing, but I'm pretty certain he'd go to a more established Premiership club over us. I seem to remember reading that Villa were sniffing round in one of the red-tops?
Francis on his day can be good, but after so long out I can't see him getting back to his day for a while if ever, reckon Howard would be worth the gamble.
Deary me, he had a couple of very good games in the short time he was available especially at Southampton which is a credit to him after being out for so long. Assuming he stays having a pre-season will do him the world of good.
More horrible misconceptions from another fan, if he scored so many goals then surely he'd have to have RUN from midfield into an attacking position ? Many of his goals have come from late RUNS into the box. Just because he doesn't charge around like a headless chicken doesn't make him lazy !
Exactly, his goal at home to Ipswich is testament to this. Great late run into the box and finished with aplomb.
