One of our best PL performances. Controlled the game from start to finish. Best thing about that was that Muff have dominated our midfield for the last 4 or 5 seasons. Today we dominated them. Chalobah and Doucoure are a different level.
A rare pleasure to see a flair player who works so hard to win the ball back and can fight to get scruffy goals like that.
Séxy football lalalalalalala sexy football! The team performed very well today and they proved that the misery last season was down to the manager. Great things to come from this team and they all look like they're good mates which is a fantastic morale booster for both us fans and the players. Richarlison, Doucoure and Chalobah (and hopefully Hughes and Penaranda) are fantastic prospects and it will only be a matter of time until one of the big boys will see that and spend some cash. All in all, nothing better than beating a load of cocky prats in a "Derby" (which is what one of the Bournemouth twitter 'ard nuts labelled it)
Taking three points from those teams who are expected to be " around " us and nicking points of the others, 2 games in and we have done just that. A lot of happy hornet fans tonight!
So good to see high tempo football, a formation that I can understand and a team that looked like they give a sh@t Watford are back, watford are back, 'ello, 'ello
Agreed, he looked rusty & too eager to impress at times but strong, held the ball up well & very very quick
Really is a good feeling to see the cheating serial divers lose. Stuff like this is too fresh in the memory: https://vine.co/v/hlpdKTpKHd6
When I was playing I was always taught to never react to a shout of leave it! ONLY let the ball go if a name is put on the shout, for example, Nath's ball, if it was Chalobah calling for it! Yes, it is a sly thing for Arter to do but it is something the Chalobah won't fall for again. Learning curve for the lad but who had the last laugh! Great win and overall team performance, still in transition but the attacking, forward thinking of Silva is evident to see already!
First post having been an avid reader for a while now! Regarding Gray, I think this may be the type of performance we can come to expect from him: frustrating, anonymous for periods, but ultimately successful in popping up with an assist. He ran the Bournemouth defence all over the place, who didn't know whether they were coming or going by the end. Goals will come as he beds in and builds an understanding with his teammates. Overall another excellent performance following on from Liverpool. Silva has a clear idea of how he wants to play, and the players are really buying into it.
Our team from our 2nd game of the season exactly 10 years ago to the day: Watford: Poom, Doyley, DeMerit, Shittu, Stewart, McAnuff, Mahon, Williamson, Smith (Kabba 79), King, Henderson. Subs Not Used: Lee, Hoskins, Mariappa, Priskin. Pinch yourselves people
So it is Ub but I can't be doing with these fanny dangle, soppy bottomed, sell your soul for a few quid, corporate names!
What are you talking about? It has nothing to do with concentration. If a teammate shouts for you to leave it because they are in a better position you do exactly that. Chalobah had no reason to think that it wasn't a Watford player calling for him to leave it. Obviously he's not as familiar with Bournemouth as most of our team/fans.
After this victory, I would like to propose that all members of our board unite. For 48 hours max. Normal service can resume on Monday.

I don't really agree with Gray being poor (except for his cross for the first goal). Today, for the first goal, when the midfield got the ball in space, Gray was trotting ahead of him down the "Deeney Channel" (that space between the centre circle and the D on the edge of their area that Deeney normally trots up and down in, with his arm in the air). Suddenly, Gray jinks to the left, wrong-footing the defender, as he then darts to the right into space he created, he crossed and we scored, by a attacker that actually ran to the near post (something Deeney hardly ever does neither). Creating and then running (diagonally) into the space. Something Deeney doesn't even try and do, preferring to moan when he doesn't get the ball. Then, for the second goal, it was Gray who created the space to receive the ball to cross it again. It was poorly cleared and we scored. He effectively made both goals. His presence is a constant concern to the defence. He did well today on his debut and I'll be surprised if Deeney is still with us come February. I hope so, as I'd rather have £25m in the bank with which to buy another couple of Richards As for the game as a whole, it was our attacking threat that nullified Bournemouth. They hardly had a kick in the 2nd 45 minutes. Defoe came on with 36 minutes to play and I am not even sure if he touched the ball. Pose a threat going forward and it will inhibit the oppositions threat. That is the way to take the pressure off our somewhat shakey defence.
I was immensely impressed today. The team know the game plan and how Marco Silva expects them to play and although it is early days it seems like the players fit the system. We managed 19 shots away today and 7 on target and to be fair Bournemouth did not really threat much at all. I would say that we looked better with ball on the floor as well and our midfield ran the game against a side that pride themselves on their passing style. I am not trying to sound arrogant or cocky but Muff looked easy to play against. Gray did not do much on the ball but he consistently ran in behind the Muff defence dragging their defenders about, exactly what we were crying out for in many games last season. Gray probably should have scored when Richarlison pulled one back for him in the first half but he did well with the assist. I really do not want to be critical of any players after such a positive performance and brilliant result away from home but I think when the team are performing it is patent to see that Amrabat is a weak link. I don't think he had a bad game today and he ran really hard as usual there was just a few times when I thought he had the space to put a better ball in or play a better pass. Carrillo would really be the icing on the cake! and I am not one that usually gets on Amrabats back as I respect the hard work he puts in. Richarlison absolutely class player full of skill and flare was a great bit of trickery in the first half when he left the Muff defender for dead. I am also impressed with his work rate he is not afraid to do the dirty work and track back and put a challenge in. Prodl has to start: End Of story.
Mental you say? I shall leave you alone until Monday; Until then, I say no more than present below for board member consideration: Helsinki Horn Hi Jason, it's me David. Do we have the same profile name ha ha. Let's go watch the next televised game together. Was a good game, hope this week we don't come crashing back down to earth!
