Sign him and play him. Can’t be any worse than the CB’s we already have. Unless we know that he’d rather go elsewhere and has better offers available. But if we can spunk £3m on utter tosh like Zeegelaar, we really should be able to get to that amount for a promising English defender in a desperately weak area of the squad.
That deal all smells rather fishy to me. Agent, snake in cahoots. You are starting to see odd moves for players purely to earn fees for their agents. I wouldn't have paid three pounds to sign Zeegelaar. The first thing any scout should look for in a player is intelligence and technical ability not pace and power as without a brain and feet to match it's useless.
True. It wouldn’t shock me if that Lukebakio deal was exactly the same. He’ll be at Udinese next year.
It's already been widely reported that Lukebakio's agent is someone Pozzo does regular business with. And he has at least one other player on his books who we're allegedly interested in. So signing the little fish might grease the wheels for the big boys.
Might well be something in that but I'd be disappointed if it's true. The agent is a Belgian called Mogi Bayat - as well as Lukebakio, we've also signed Oulare, Kums and Okaka as his clients so he's pretty much had our pants down. I'd much rather we signed players we actually wanted rather than listened to the recommendations of agents but accept that with the power they wield in the modern game, it may well work that way. The Oulare one stands out as a really odd piece of business - a deadline day signing for quite big money of a player who was nowhere near good enough for the Premier League.
Bobby P has taken his hair onto the next level with the nano braids. Plenty of room for intermediate level silly hair.
Sorry first link I saw was from the Sun. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6011440/ben-wilmot-watford-stevenage-arsenal-tottenham/ Where will we send him on loan next season?
Happy with this, good to see he has been getting some real games under his belt too, not just academy games.
YK, panther like you strike! You don’t need to trade lairy yarns about student days. We all have different roles on here.
Looking forward to him picking up a bruised foot in pre-season and then disappearing into the medial bunker, never to be heard from again.
So we have a young swedish Keeper, a young defender from stevenage , an incoming Peneranda, with Hughes back and Chalobah regaining the use of his legs , it certainly seems that we are trying to reduce average age of the squad .
Quite a few people on here seem to be getting excited about the possibily of Peneranda finally being available to WFC next season. I don't understand why, as has he not been mostly **** up till now?
He's still young and has potential. From what I have seen of him he works hard too, so I wouldn't write him off yet. Anyone know if Gracia has a good track record when it comes to developing young players?
Absolutely no chance that Ryan Sessegnon comes to us. Bigger and better teams will want him for sure and I very much doubt we could even afford him.
As a matter of interest, when could we expect Wilmot to play for us? Hoban must be nearing his testimonial.
Good young prospect secured. I doubt he'll be ready for first team football though, so will probably be loaned out to the Championship next season, which will be a big step up for him anyway. At £1.5m it's a no brainer, even if he doesn't develop into a Premier league player, we wont lose on this.
If true its a good move for Wilmott keeps him in a familiar environment to Stevenage, without possibly having to move, Stevenage born and bred so assume he still lives at home with his parents or locally anyway!
