BEN ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS - PART 3
THANK you to everyone who sent in questions, we've had a huge response to this feature.

In fact we had so many that we couldn't ask them all but please don't give up as we're hoping to make this a regular feature with players.

Q - Do you feel under extra pressure as the team isn't scoring too many goals at the moment, because you know that one mistake could cost the team the game, and if so, how do you deal with it?

    Michael Smith

A - It doesn't help when they haven't scored but we just concentrate on doing our jobs. We don't worry about it, we just do what come naturally.

Q - In light of Paddy Kenny's recent injury during a game and Jagielka stepping in due to no substitute keeper, which Watford outfield player (Anthony McNamee excluded) would replace you in the same circumstance?
    Nick Baker

A - I really don't know! No-one goes in goal when we mess about in training. They'd all be useless!

Q - What do you do at weekends when you don't have a game?

    Lorraine Butler

A - I have a lie-in to start with because I never normally have one. The Mrs then normally drags me off shopping somewhere!

    Q - Any superstitions?

    Lorraine Butler

A - I tap the crossbar with my hand at the start of each half.

Q - What has been your proudest moment in your career so far?

    Lorraine Butler

A - It has to be Cardiff.

Q - What was your reaction when you found out you'd been included in last year's world cup squad and were you able to get a refund on your holiday?!

    Claire Wright

A - Yes I did get a refund actually! I was chocked by the call-up at first and then I was very proud and then a little bit nervous.

Q - Do you think you could make a good outfield player and if so which position would most suit you?

    Adrian Barr

A - Yeah I could be an outfield player! I could be a left winger, a centre back or a striker. Because I can score goals, I can knock balls in and I could smash players if I was a centre back! I change roles in training all the time so I'm used to playing outfield.

Q - How do you feel when the Watford fans chant 'England's Number one'?

    Nick, Watford

A - I love it, its absolutely brilliant!

Q - How has the difference between last season and this season helped your development as a goalkeeper?
    Marc Hydleman

A - The players have got a lot more technical ability but the pace of the game is the biggest thing.

Q - My goalkeeper is finding adjusting to "proper" big pitches and goals a little nerve-wracking. He needs help with his goal-kicks do you have any tips I can pass on to him?
    Sean

A - Try not to smash it as hard as you can just concentrate on making good contact. Also be nice and relaxed when you're taking the kicks.

Q - Would you ever consider yourself to take a penalty in a match?

A - Yes certainly. I took one on the South African tour with Manchester United during the summer, but unfortunately I hit the crossbar.

Q - Do you put your success down to playing five-a-side with my mate Robbie Coope?

A - Ha ha! Yes I put it all down to that, in fact its all down to you Coope!

Q - A large number of you asked about Ben's situation and how he has enjoyed his time at Watford?

(There are too many of you to mention - but thank you very much for the question)

A - I've loved it here, it's like home to me at the moment.

I feel very settled, we've got a great set of lads here, the fans are unbelievable and it's been fantastic that they've taken to me so much.

I would love to keep us in the Premiership and come back next season.

Q - What has been your highlight this season?
    Nick, Watford

A - Keeping a clean sheet against Tottenham, my boyhood team.

Q - At the beginning of the Championship you played in nike gloves but now you plays in sells why did you change?

A - I played two games in Nike gloves. I wore them in the warm-up for the second game of the season against Plymouth and then I changed to Sells and I've never worn anything else because I feel so much more comfortable in sells.

Q - How do you feel about the competition there is now at Manchester United?
(Again, lots of people asked this question - thanks again)

A - I don't really think about it to be honest. I can only do what I can for Watford and whatever's going to be in the future will be.

Q - How different is it dropping footballs instead of plates?

A - I find the balls don't break and for your info. the kitchen sweepers I had as part of the team now play for Luton and i think that is why they are leaking goals as well as us.

Q - Have you ever dropped an egg?

    A - No, why?

Reply - Go and play rugby then.

Q - when do you think you will actually do some work for Man Utd

A - When the canteen lady leaves.

Foster is the most talented person at the football club, so joke all you want but to be honest, its not funny or correct.

  17. PaddingtonsYellowArmy

jobby - where was his command of the area when ash headed out from under his hands? Routine saves that any reasonable keeper would make - let in another 3 - oh dear oh dear oh dear.

"Foster is the most talented person at the football club, so joke all you want but to be honest, its not funny or correct." - AT COOKING.

I agree... he wasnt blameless yesterday by any means...
He is still a quality keeper though... we have 2 of the best keepers in the league at our disposal no matter what RL is a good keeper, though arguably not AS good as BF

  19. Greek God

foster is a top keeper. Lee has the potential to be a top keeper if he could distribute the ball better....

Reading between the lines in what he says i think it is safe to say he will be with us next year... and who knows maybe longer.. from what i got from his 3 parts he is loving life at watford and knows he is going to have little chance at getting the number 1 slot at manure any time soon.

  21. PaddingtonsYellowArmy

    PaddingtonsYellowArmy First Team Captain

And the valuable two years experience that RL has lost to the advantage of Man Utd - when bozo stays at manure next season we still have to go out and get a keeper as back up or if aidy wants for the first team.

Waste of time really - we would have gone up whether Cococ or Bozo was in goal.

Bozo hasn't kept us up - all the other keepers in the premiership pull of spectacular saves - he is probaly 20th best keeper in the premier.

"However, Fozzy is not in the England squad for his cooking skills. He is class and I hope he is with us next year. But if not, i'm happy for Rich lee to have the number one shirt."

He's in because the other keepers are/were injured.

  23. berkshirehorn

    berkshirehorn presumably I upset/disappointed someone

There is no 'reading between the lines' here. It's all PR cobblers and means nothing. He's hardly going to say 'I hate here in the premiership dustbin with everyone laughing at us and i can't wait to get back to United's reserves'...

  24. UEA_Hornet

    UEA_Hornet First Team Captain

Spot on. It's club PR. If we go down, he won't be back. In fact as much as I like Foster as a keeper I would start to question the intelligence of loaning him for a third straight year. It might make the balance sheet look good but he's not 'ours'. Either sign him or send him back.

it will have to be an Orange and lemonade :)

I would love to see him back here next year, it won't happen which means we need to buy a No1 asap.

i would have had a look at Kiely from Pompey in this window.
