Morning guys. Man City fan here (I come in peace) looking for advice on where would be best for away fans to have a few pints before the game tomorrow? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Lee
Most pubs in the Town centre will be fine. You won't get in to the Red lion (home only) which is opposite the away end. Town centre is a 10 min walk from the ground. If travelling by train Watford Junction is again less than 10 mins to the main pubs.
Mac's Bar is the usual away pub. It's not the biggest of pubs, but with the warm weather due for Saturday you can spill out into the garden. Any of the numurous pubs in the High Street are ok for away fans. The Weatherspoon's pub, Moons, has a mix of home and away, both in colours, no problem, and the beer's cheap :]] Don't try street parking anywhere near the ground - it's all permit only, and the facist ticket vendors are out in full force on match days. Oh, and shame about the result
I feel an idea coming on. As we slowly rise in the search engine rankings more away fans will be finding us next season, so how about an away fans guide to pubs, parking and accomodation?
well next year, we go back to the regular group of teams we play, so its unlikely we will get too many questions, but u never know some mb's offer this service, but if you advise, one pub, and it goes wrong, there are come backs.
like the posts above, moons in the high street, or macs bas closer to the ground. the upper high street is full of bars/pubs ( not cheap ) so plenty to choose from. i would avoid, one bell, and one crown, both are small, get packed, and the beer is ****.
Thanks for the friendly response and all the advice. I reckon Macs bar or The moon are looking favourite. Thanks again and good look for the future, proper fans who support their local club, football could do with more clubs like watford.
