True, but he's better than an empty seat on the bench. Our HG policy seems to be progressingly rather slowly.
Maybe he missed the M18 junction with the M1 at Rotherham and ended up in Wigan, and couldn't be bothered to head back.
Only a loan - and I presume we are still paying most of his wages. Got to hope he actually does well there so they might want him...
What a strange thing to say. Just-about-to-be-unemployed footballer is given a contract and is paid, probably rather well, even if he isn't very good. He will be free to take up these out-on-loan offers and attempt to further his career. Still being paid, I presume. I also assume Watford never promised him a guaranteed first team place. What part of that is human trafficking?
Sounds like Wigan were willing to pay more of his wages than Rotherham were (alleged to be 18k a week..) so we probably told Fletcher to go to Wigan.
Didn’t make sense then, didn’t make sense 6 months ago and doesn’t make sense now. But at least it’s over for one more season.
18k a week for Fletch blows my mind, I bet he couldn't believe his luck when we came along and offered him that last summer.
Glad to see it’s only a loan though. Sensible signing for next season as we will be preparing to play in the Champi…. Oh.
I have already sent a bereavement card to the Wigan supporters club. I really am so very sorry for their lose.
In the long and utterly disgraceful list of pointless, nonsensical signings, this one is wayyyyy up the list. Truly mind bottling.
Harsh mate. Can't believe RE has scuppered our long-term planning. Fletch was all set to fire us to promotion this season. #forwardplanning
Au revoir to the back-ups, back-ups, back-up. Enjoy Wiggone Ashley. Stay safe in Lancs, ready for next year's cruise on HMSPTL.
