I thought Prodl was immense (apart from one woeful free kick) - I'm surprised how few people singled him out for praise. Watson and Behrami are primarily ball-winners and breakers-up of opponents' play, our other midfielders focus on retaining possession. Gueds is the only one who always looks to go forward. Yes, he takes risks and did lose the ball a few times, sometimes because the people in front of him weren't making a run. His adventurousness adds balance to the team, and with all the covering midfield players we have, as well as excellent defenders and keepers, I think he's worth a place. He also reduces our reliance on Ig to score the goals.
Casting my mind back to the game, I thought Gueds dovetailed with Nyom well re: protecting him more than Ake recieved from Capoue. Ake, particularly in the 1st half was left 1-1 with Capoue further upfield or in the box whereas I saw Nyom and Gueds shoring up the right flank a lot more. If you look at the game and again particularly in the 1st half, a lot of joy came down Ake's flank when he was left in a 1-1 whereas Arsenal had little joy at Nyom's side because Nyom had Guediora coming in and helping him out more.
Any chance of the shoutbox script being posted from the game? Would love to see the reactions to the various events.
