Yes the site has ran like a dog for the last couple of hours,(a slow dog with 3 legs). All down to me this time. We've been running a trial install of the new software which hasn't affected things that much. However, after the install we have to optimise the whole database to run well with the new software, and I thought it we be a good thing to do this morning. What I didn't realise was how much server resources this would take up! It killed the main site for an hour, so I tried to stop the optimising. No chance. I've had to completely wipe the new software and removed the replicated database to bring us back to full speed on here again. So back to square one with the new software!! I'll set it all up again later and run the optimisation overnight. This means that I might have to close the forum from midnight to 8am-ish to carry out this task successfully, but I'll let you know. Apologies.
