I don't know if this has been mentioned but in Tuesday's programme notes Aidy said "I'm pleased with what we've got, but I'm still not finished adding to the squad yet and we are all working hard to add fresh blood before the end of the month." ******** or fact? He is obviously looking for a striker having failed with HH and DJ or has he settled for Hendo? I would like to see a creative midfielder, although Rinaldi did well on Tuesday, and cover at left back. That would be enough.
I think that if Parkes' injury is semi-serious or worse then we will definately need left-back cover. The problem is, who wants to come here to be cover?
He's from right up the road form me (Cerritos, CA). However, he's a midfielder. Not sure it's what we need here.
i think aidy is still looking and will obviously buy if he can add to the team but he has already said he wont sign players to sit on the bench, and as i dont beleive we will get many players than what are better than what we have got i dont think we will sign anyone till january
More to the point Berko is who will we sell. Marlon won't go but i still think that there is a small ( very small ) chance of big Dan or even smaller chance of Jay going and if i could find a bet on the club I think either would go to i would lump a bit of dosh on it. There is one club in the premiership who is crying out for a CB and would probably pay OTT squids - the thing is can we still go up as champions without one of them - IMO yes. So what fee should we accept if my very wild hunch is actually not so wild? Are jay and Bigdan deemed as crown jewels or is the treasure chest only big enough for Marlon?
We don't really need more signings, they would just get in the way of players who need to be given a chance. If the Gillingham match showed us one thing it's that we have lots of depth and two full XIs of players that are good enough to fight for a place in the first XI. Would like some cover on the wings, though, so a loan move for Scott Sinclair would be perfect. I'd also like us to bring in a left back on loan as we are vulnerable to injuries there with only JS and JP (who is still very very young) currently able to play there (playing Mariappa, Doyley or DeMerit out of position is _not_ a good option). What we really don't need is another low-profile mediocre striker, CM, CB, etc. We have 4 decent stikers behind King (Priskin, Hendo, Hoskins and Kabba), tons of midfielders (especially when Francis and Williams are back), 4 decent centre backs (plus Avinel and also Mariappa, Doyley, Osborne perhaps). Save the cash and spend it on a quality player or two in January instead.
Holloway wanted him back at Plymouth but apparently it was made clear to him Chelsea want him in and around the first team squad this season.
No-one wants to come now, sitting top of the league in Jan may help but I still think we will struggle to get any decent players in. TBO I'm still shocked that Marlon is still here, thank good he is. Lets hope the back up players continue the form from Tue. Even Kabba made a few runs!!!!
We have a massive squad and we don't need any more players. The only thing we may need is a LB, but to be honest I think Parkes could hack it for a couple of games if the need arises.
Yeah but apparently its only a light calf injury. If both JS and JP get injured we have enough people who can cover briefly. No need to add yet another player and hinder the development of yet another one of our young players.
