Horrible source.. But today’s edition of The S*n is claiming we will try and sign Amad Diallo on loan in the summer.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/25859957/amad-diallo-man-utd-transfer-birmingham-watford/ They go further actually - they say we tried to get him on loan last month and Udinese might even try and sign him permanently in the summer and then do a deal with us.
He's good enough to be playing in the Premier League and to be playing more for Man Utd than he is. I did see he was interested in going out on loan again in Jan to get more playing time but I'd be very surprised if there weren't plenty of bigger clubs interested in him, whether it be PL, Serie A, Bundesliga etc. And every club in the Championship next season would surely want him if available (including any of those who get relegated). So one way or another I'd be incredibly surprised if he ended up here. Udinese signing him on a permanent deal might not be impossible, but then why would they sign a player for £15mil+ and then immediately send him on loan to us? And why would he agree to that relative to the other options he may have?
If you truly believe Watford will be in the market for players like Diallo in the summer then I have some Jupiler league tat to sell you
The article literally even says this: Nothing could ever, in the history of all you need to know, be more all you need to know.
There is absolutely no chance on earth we will sign Amad Diallo. None. Probably a friendly journo spinning a story for Duxbury and co.
Gino is clearly showing ambition and the ability to scout the players we need to get promoted, it’s hardly his fault if the parent club won’t subsidise 95% of the wages and the player themselves doesn’t want to come to us.
