Yes, our players were crap today. No they were worse than that - at least when you have a dump there is a "passing" pleasure. I don't care if we lose as long as we battle and show the right spirit but today the team embarrassed me. They just didn't want it at all - and as for Bangura he can 'cof back to the Ressies. BUT MORE THAN THE PLAYERS AIDY SHOULD APOLOGISE TO ALL FANS AT THE GAME, WATCHING ON TV, LISTENING ON THE RADIO OR PICKING UP THEIR PAPER TOMORROW. He can criticise the players for choking but how about criticising his own tactics and team selection - just absolutely pi$$ poor. I am a fan of Aidy's but like at Arsenal away he got it so wrong today
100% agree. I've been everywhere except Chelski and Pompey this season. Never have we been so gutless and clueless. No spirit. Maybe that is expected with a disruptive week where you tell the coach he's no longer needed. Those players out there must be wondering who is next and if it is them, so determined are they to bring in new blood. If they were being told all-as-one-and-all-together all season, they do not look as if they believe it now. We were miles better at Anfield (and Everton, Wigan, Bolton) I don't expect to win but I do expect the team to look like they care. To start with a front four (Young,Smith,Macca and Boozer) who have shown a tendency to drift in and out of games was risky. At least having no height or strength up front at kick off showed an intention not to play "direct" football, whatever that is. That team could have been a last year's reserve line out. I await February with interest. And yes, like a mug, I will be at Old Trafford and Villa Park. I hope the Goldenboys I knew and loved turn up too.
The atmosphere at the Vic today was one of the flattest I've ever experienced. I know it kicked off early but the team gave us nothing AT ALL to shout about. This is one of my most deflating days ever as a Watford fan. Me my cousin and Uncle just sat in silence in the car on the way home. There was nothing to say. Sometimes after coming all the way down from Manchester for these games you say to yourself, why should I bother if the team plays like that? It costs me an arm and a leg to follow the 'Orns home and away, and performances like that don't help one bit. However I will continue to do so as I'm addicted to Watford FC, I wish I wasn't sometimes (i.e today), but I am. But an apology from Aidy would go some way towards mending how I feel this evening.
I wasn't there, but was I was really disappointed with the performance. It didn't help i was watching the game surrounded by Liverpool fans who probably just expected to win and no doubt think it was their quality which got them the victory. We really missed Shittu in defence, Malky looked off the pace, was lucky not to get sent off judging by the replays and we just gave quality strikers far too much space. My mate commented that we looked like a team who had accepted we were going down. I'm not sure how true that is but we were not the Watford we have been used to seeing this season. The only game we were as poor as that was Sheffield United. Aidy wasn't happy, and we know what the response will be - a better performance in the next game.
It was pretty poor. I am glad that there are people on here that agree with me. I was very disappointed with the effort today, not so with the result, I honestly thought we would feel the backlash from the Arsenal games. We looked absolutely lost for most of the game although it did pick up for about 10 mins after Hendo and Hoskins came on. We should have gone at them and tried to unsettle them at least have had a go at beating them. Instead we were poor, and didn't look like we ever going to score. Although congrats to Jordan Stewart for having a go, on another day that may have screamed in.
Horrific afternoon, found myself dejectedly slumped in my seat thinking that we're back to losing to the likes of Millwall at home with lewington in charge. Truely dyer (not Bruce) and as Kieran said, let down and disheartened. Very dissapointing.
i was in a pub full of liverpool fans today and i tell ya what they told me over and over again how crap we was and what could i say there was nothing i could do to defend my team as it was crap and thats the sad thing about it after some games yes we might lose but we play well and are just unlucky at least then i can defend the team today there was not one good thing what happen in that match what was good for watford and i just feel that aidy loseing the faith of his players and staff all we did today was hit and hope and u could see that did not work
Just got back to Devon after coming up for the match, it really was that bad. I am still hoping to wake up and find it was a bad dream. Going To Villa Park next week and like the rest of us supporters hoping that we get a bit more commitment next week. One thing I had to keep telling myself was this is only Aidy's second full year in charge at any football club. He is still learning. The team was promoted ahead of schedule and Aidy and the team were not ready for the Premier League. Lets regroup next year after a lot of reflection and with a lot of spare money after The Young sale. (8 Million lets sell, sell, sell) + parachute payment of 9 Million and come back stronger and a more experianced Aidy & Team. Once a Yellow always a Yellow. ;D
mate i think we are all in a bad mood after 2day and theres no need to take it out on me i was just voiceing my thoughts on 2day if you should be havein ago at anyone it should be aidy or the team because there the ones who have put us in this mood
looking back at the game it was like lewington was back.... oh sorry we played better against liverpool with lewington......
i was having a month off the bevs but because of that game, i went out on the lash, spent 60 quid, drank 9 pints of stella, which caused me to sleep walk in the night and p*ss all over the carpet in the living room. aidey owes me big time!
I don't think Aidy knows his best team without the King and Henderson combination upfront! He's still unsure of who to play upfront and it really shows! For me it now has to be Hoskins and Priskin!
Made me laugh. ;D ;D Nice one Matimbers. Could be worse could have woken up next to a Lu**n female fan. ;D
