Not sure if you can say that unless you know the kid. Seems to have that arrogance that a lot of good strikers possess, like Deeney.
Pictures with the captions: "born naked but we're gonna die in designer" or "I'm forever tellin'em, if it ain't about the money it's irrelevant" don't help assumptions.
Watford U21 Team Maidenhead United 3-0 Watford U21, after our destruction by the mighty Magpies where do we turn from here? Kewell out? More non English players needed? Support Bournemouth U21's? What are our prospects in the U21 league this season? Unchartered territory, can we work our way up to the higher leagues? I think our U21's are one of the lowliest Premier League U21's in the league structure. We already have a reserve team thread so this is probably pointless.....
@Watfordfc: UNDER-18: #watfordfc have drawn 2-2 at Chelsea in a pre-season friendly - Michael Folivi scored twice, with one from the penalty spot. The kid is a machine.
I'd almost be tempted to have him around the first team squad just incase.. Always one surprise package..
In all fairness to Chelsea's academy, most of them were playing against Southampton in the Europa league, where more Englishmen were playing for Vitesse than the Saints!
Maybe, but he played for the under 21s the other night so if he's finding it too easy he might get more games in the under 21s. Plus I think a few of the scholars will be training with Kewell's group as they're bound to be involved at some point.
Perhaps, though the fact that we've now category 2 which means the kids should be facing better teams every week, I think Folivi will stick largely to the U18s. Would be good to see him tested under Me well though.
Hull u18 0-4 Watford u18 A brace each for Obi and Folivi Watford:*Nathan Gartside, Brandon Mason, Louis Rogers, Josh Roe, Connor Stevens, Charlie Rowan, Michael Folivi, Ashley Charles, Ogochukwu Obi, Maximillian Ryan, Dion Pereira. Substitutes:*Max Makala, Jamie Lacy, Jacob Cook, David Sesay, Denilson Carvalho.*
UNDER-21: #watfordfc line-up v @swfc : Gilmartin (GK); Hoban, Johnson (c), Trialist, Doherty; Martin, Smith, Byers, Lewis; Jakubiak, Mensah.
When was this? Because according to the club's Twitter, Obi and Makaka were in the U21 squad against Sheffield Wednesday today.
Under 21 highlights now on HP. The trialist centre back was huge! Long shot but does anyone have any idea who it is?
Some of the u18 on scholarships from a match programme description. Looks like we are taking kids from other clubs programmes. Might well work out given Reece Oxford being let go by Tottenham before his rapid progress at West Ham United. Denilson Carvalho: Left-footed creative midfielder recently signed with the Golden Boys from Watford’s training ground neighbours Arsenal. Ashley Charles: A central midfielder who joined the Hornets Academy from the Watford FC community trust. Treon Johnson: A quick forward who previously played for Charlton Athletic. He has been a consistent scorer at youth level. Dion Pereira: Left-footed winger joined the Hornets in 2012 and was recently called-up to an England under-16 training camp. Joshua Roe: The central midfielder joined Watford at Under-9 level in 2007 and has come through the Harefield programme. Louis Rogers: A combative centre midfielder who has been with the Hornets and in the Academy programme since 2011. Max Ryan: Another central midfielder and has been with the Hornets since 2007 at Under-9 level. David Sesay: An attacking full-back who joined the Hornets at Under-9 level in 2007 and has come through the Harefield programme. Andrew Thomas: Goalkeeper, who joined Watford’s Academy in 2008, will continue his development as an extended schoolboy before starting his scholarship in 2016 because he took his GCSEs a year early and is halfway through his A-levels.
Think Tommie Hoban was from Arsenal and didn't Sordell come from Fulham so its not anything new I guess.
UNDER-21: #watfordfc line-up v @HullCity: Gilmartin; Young, Belkalem, Hoban, Trialist; Lewis, Johnson (c), Smith, Martin; Mensah, Jakubiak. Trialist is Reiss Greenidge who plays for West Brom.
Good digging. How'd you find that out? I see we also have a trialist on the bench. Judging by the order, I'd assume he's a striker.
http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2015/07/live-rolling-hornets-news-bites/ All on here. Losing 2-1 at the moment.
Just gone 3-1 down. Bad mistake by Gilmartin Been quite even possession chances but they've had more efforts. Bit sloppy at times - both in attack and defence. Well taken goal by Mensah though. Trialist 1 went off at HT. Generally they were quicker and more physical.
3-1 now, Gilmartin mistake, failed to hold a shot. The other trialist is on, Mr Danilo Orsi-Dadono. The club have it as Dadono but there is a Dadomo who plays for Chivas Florida under 18s who has had trials with us and Arsenal when he was a kid.
Things looking positive when your almost 29 year old 3rd keeper is making mistakes whilst playing against 17 year olds.
