Why is it only certain people have problems with the stewards?

I'm not saying the stewards weren't idiots, but had you lot been drinking before the match?

I ask because this seems to be a bit of a recurring theme with you and your friends.

Yes, because that's what you do before a game. Apparently.

I went to Derby last season and the stewards were top notch, some of the friendliest Id ever come across. To get thrown out your mate really must be a complete buffoon.

Haha, what? Why are you posting your story on here then??

If you tell us whether or not you were drinking beforehand, then maybe we could come up with suggestions so that you don't keep getting chucked out of stadiums on a regular basis.

If you had been drinking before, my suggestion would be to stop drinking so much perhaps? That way, you won't give the stewards an excuse to chuck you out and you can all enjoy the football together. The stewards clearly smelt the booze on your mate, and that's probably why he was kicked out.

I drove up so I had no drinks. And im not "always" getting thrown out... Yes a misunderstanding at palace but ive been to hundreads of away games in my life and never got thrown out..

Yeh he had been drinking and they would of smelt beer, but Im sure they smell it on everyone who has been to the pub! But the thing is that they said he had all sauce down him which was infact from the loose ketchup lid on he burger stool outside the turnstiles, they of course didnt see this and just thought he was drunk and coudnt eat properly!

Do the Watford Observer still mention the amount of ejections at games?

Surprise surprise, Dazza is on a thread attacking stewards again. Do you or any of your mates have two brain cells to rub together between you?

well if they do their job properly and have some common sense and stop acting like c**** then I wouldnt need to moan about them. I think they look forward to thinking they have all the power in the world on their Saturdays. Majority of stewards are decent, you just get the odd few who arnt. Especially the "main" stewards" probably coudnt get in to the police force for being to fat.

In any recurring theme, you need to look for the common denominator. If I kept getting drunk and chucked out of games, I would eventually see that the fault didn't lay with the various stewards I grappled with at different ends of the country and maybe think that the fault lies within myself.

Perhaps ask your mates to not get drunk one game and see what happens.

Don't really need to judge. Two away games and this young man and his mates have had issues with stewards on noth occasions. I know there are stewards out there with a power complex (especially West Brom) but honestly who's fault do you reckon it was? Might be time to cut down on the drinking otherwise they'll get a reputation.

I'm usually pished before most games and I've never been refused entry. Don't act like a **** and you'll be left alone.

What about the other 100+ away games since he was a member, I don't remember him commenting on being thrown out or something similar in every other game thread since 2007.

Re: Palace, I SAW what happened right in front of me with him and know what he said was true.

There's no need to jump on his back and slate him repeatedly from your high horses, as easy as it may be to do so.

    Who said anything about judging?

I'm offering him advice as to (hopefully) not get kicked out of stadiums again in the future.

Ok, but you have to accept that you or I will not be able to kick bad stewards out of the game anytime soon. As such, the best way you can go about getting your moneys worth for the tickets you buy is to know your limits, and have just the one drink before the match. After the match, do as you please but what I'm saying is: don't give the stewards an excuse to chuck you out of the ground. If they don't like the look of you and you reek of booze, well then you're probably ****ed. Maybe you and your mates know your limits, but you have to accept that you will probably have to play by their rules on a Saturday afternoon so you can get into the ground without a problem and at the same time, avoid getting chucked out.

    This.

Know your limits. Maybe you can handle your alcohol, but perhaps your mates can't? If so, stop them drinking so much beforehand so you don't give stewards an excuse and you all enjoy the game together.

I didn't think much of what he was saying was overly serious. Like a bunch of forumers are going to change his friends behaviour.

This is kinda what we've all mostly been saying in our own individual ways.

    Hope it works out.

People could of said it without making out "I" am constantly getting thrown out of games.. thats why i was getting annoyed, and some people slagging of me and my friends. Im sure most of you in your lifetime have had a few too many.. and this time my friend happened to give of the impression he had been drinking.. not like he was staggering everywhere! which then i could agree with the stewards. It might have been before a football game, Before a night out etc so people shoudnt be hyprocrites.. I see where people are coming from but I feel people should word it different before judging peope over a forum when you have never met them....

I liked seeing some idiot pinned to the floor by about 4 coppers about 100m from the turnstiles at Peterborough away, the fact he was still giving it mouth made me chuckle.
