If only we could lose 4-3 every week, I'd be so happy.

A great evenings entertainment. Talk of a mass exodus is crazy. I really think we only need about 3 astute signings and we'll be comfortable again next season.

Holebas is my POTS, no doubt about it. I love him. He really roughed up a couple of the chelsea ponces. Please god dont let him go.
Okaka feels more and more "Watford" with every match too. I really like the big galoot.
Janmaat is classy and i desperately hope he stays.
Niang was poor but I still think we should buy him. It's just a matter of finding his right position. With players like pereyra around him he'll shine (I hope...).
Capoue I am still prepared to give another season to. He remains one of the most talented players we've ever had. The consistency will come (maybe).
Amrabat must never play for us again.
Prodl is ace and will remain ace next season.
Mariappa....not great but a half decent squad player.
Berhami - he's going to leave.
Deeney - on that wage it is essential he leaves.

All we need is a defender (that italian from hull will do)
A midfielder (I dont know any, but some ace african will do)
A striker (a cheeky bid for gabbiadini from southampton would do the trick).

oh and we probably need another fullback. And maybe a keeper.

    What's happened to success?

Overall, mazzarri in or out, I couldnt give a toss. Either way, next season will be just fine.

Oh and we'll beat man city.

    "Expensive Lewis McGugan" - spot-on
Or Janmaat, Maps and Holebas. I'm sure we can find some wing-backs from somewhere - Zuniga and Mason?

Amrabat - Agree with everyone about him, but think it should be said, that he did some good work in defence, some of the time. Damning with faint praise.

The bit in bold is simply not true, he has never regularly beaten several men. He used to be quite good at rolling a single defender by holding them close and letting the ball go past but since referees have rumbled that and started penalising him, he hasn't been able to get away with it. He wasn't playing "killer passes" either, he's one of the worst passers of the ball we've had since we've been promoted.

He was better in the first half of the season but it still mainly boiled down to huff and puff with little end product. The difference was that he was at least confident and fit, which gave his huff and puff a nice positive shine to it. I agree that he wasn't helped by Deeney and Ighalo both being in wretched form and not looking to attack the ball though. Now, however, he's either unfit or lost his confidence and he's being shown up for the very ordinary footballer that he is.

By the way, those YouTube videos aren't being posted as highlights of him tearing defences apart, they're just footage of every single time he touched the ball, posted by Moroccans who are proud that they have someone playing in the Premier League. The first 30 seconds of the Liverpool one actually sums him up as a player - gives the ball away needlessly, gets it back, turns into trouble and gets tackled, gets back up and sprints back to stop the cross. Gets plaudits for his effort and blocking the cross but we wouldn't have been in that position if he hadn't given the ball away twice within about three seconds.

Carragher made a good comment on Sky last week about Zonal not being better or worse than Man to Man. Both systems end-up with players unmarked and errors being made, so its more about the players not doing the job required of them, than whether its Zonal or Man to Man.

This is something I genuinely don't understand. We have the tallest squad and first XI in the Prem and yet we've conceded the most goals from corners this season...

I am confident that anyone watching the Amrabat highlights of the Liverpool game will think he was pretty impressive, particularly as we were being soundly thrashed at the time. I think that anyone coming away highlighting the negatives was most likely looking for the negatives.

I can see when a player is mot doing well, and last night I was livid with the way he was playing, so I don't have an agenda. He was probably our best player imho in up to his injury, and now he is a bit poop. But that doesn't justify ignoring what he did achieve.

Maybe we should play Capoue in a more advanced role more often rather than toss him aside? His concentration lapses are far less damaging there, while he clearly has an eye for goal and can make something happen.

Doucoure is the greatest footballer of all time.

Finally, I'm sick to the teeth of disrespectful comments about Deeney after all he has given our club. He's still good enough and if he left our fans would realise after about 90 minutes of the new season what we were missing.

Maybe height isn't the determining factor in successfully defending corners?

I'd say we need a winger on top.

So six signings. Another quiet Pozzo summer

Maybe not the single-most determining factor but surely it is a big factor?

The ref didn't hang around dishing out the cards, whats happened to having a quiet word first then booking next time, Holebas and Deeney both booked for their first indiscretion which I though was unnecessary! that's probably why Okaka wasn't happy with Deeney as it led to him being booked as well!

Cifriana saw the report on the game on this morning's news and says that we 'should be very proud' that we scored three goals against the champions.

    She's right.

I was 16. The whole family went. Mum, Dad, sister, me and two uncles. Unfortunately, the two uncles weren't of WFC and arrived late from Sarff London which meant my dad didn't get to watch the match with his immediate family but spent it at the other end with the Chelski with the two uncles. My old man was pretty laid back about the whole thing as was I (and my 13 y.o. sister to be fair) but my mum went ballistic and 'wrote a letter to Balham'). Ha! All history now.

We would always be relegated on 0 points. Breaking all kinds of abysmal records that would haunt us forever.

All joking aside, I know what you mean.

Mark Hughes and Robbie Savage also on 14. Seems almost a respectable achievement.

Don't you think that, has we played as well in the other 37 games, as we played against the Champions on Monday, we would have won a few more points against less able clubs?

Holebas should change his next season's squad number to 14 (or 15 should he get booked against Manchester City).

    I do.

I doubt many teams in the league can raise their games for the Swansea's of the world, in the same way as they can for the Premier League champions however.
