Anybody got any news in Djibil Toure? His YouTube videos are from a couple of years ago but looks like a Sarr replacement.

Yes but think of the 4 years of loan fees from an obscure team in Belgium.

The Athletic article in the wake of his signing gives some insight into just what a ridiculous case of 'written in the stars' this transfer is, including the fact that his partner and child already live in Hertfordshire, he is a self-professed 'London boy', and he rooms with Iggy on international duty. That's not to mention his relationship with Watford youth legend Harry Kane.

Jokes aside, surely he won't feature for us this season, or maybe even next season neither

He actually seems like he really wants to be here. The club posted the standard "Welcome to Watford" style message on Facebook earlier, and he actually responded to it saying thanks (along with a hornet emoji, obviously an instant legend). First time I've ever seen a new signing respond to one of the club's FB posts.

I reckon he might end up as club captain before too long. He's a good age to build around and is already an international captain for a decent footballing nation, so very likely a proven leader.

I knew about his time in Bishop's Stortford, and it stands to reason that he's pally with Wilmot and Iggy, but I didn't know he still had family here! Who knows, maybe if he weren't an Udinese player we'd have been in for him, but what a stroke of luck that the Pozzos essentially had someone so suitable on the books that we could have for free!

As was uncovered of the forum this very afternoon we got £1m a season for Obbi Oulare on loan so this fellow must earn us at least £5m per annum I reckon. This football lark is printing money.

Positive. He was reportedly very reluctant to join, so who knows what incentives he's been offered.

Ha. It's not just our fans that post weird **** on football forums though. I've seen Manure fans who want to sign Sarr and convert him into a wing-back!

Never heard of him. Any good?

Saw a pic though and he gets a strong 7/10 on the swoon-o-meter.

This is a great little piece on our new man. Sounds like a quality player and a leader on the pitch too.

Interesting fact: he already owns a house in Hertfordshire! His wife and daughter live there. He was also educated at a state school in Bishops Stortford.

Oh and by the way, according to this, his teammates at Udinese used to call him 'King Kong'. I think it's fine for us to refer to him as 'King Ekong' therefore.

With the BLM and taking the knee campaign, I cannot see calling our new signing a big monkey as a good idea. Mixed messages. Needs to be dropped quickly....even if it's his nickname at Udinese.

What a good suggestion, and as I am always being asked to put some substance on my posts. Please see #395 posted on page 12 of this thread about two weeks ago. Ps there is a typo on the word (s)our in that post, before all the wise guys point it out.

Sadly its deleted as its over 24hrs old - but he posted a tribute fans had made to him with a banner that said 'Kong Kong' on it which suggests he has no issue with it.

And yes, it said King Kong, not King Ekong...

That said, in today’s climate, it’s not worth it. Plus the crown is already taken by King Ken.

FFS it's meant in an affectionate way and the man himself seems to be happy about it, so what right does anyone else have to say it is wrong.

We are talking about Italian fans, lest we forget; the standards over there are somewhat different to here when it comes to these kinds of things, as we have seen with several high-profile incidents over the last couple of years.

Pornstar Ken to me. Try telling me that moustache would look out of place in a dirty 80s VHS.

So who moves aside for Troosty? On current form I'd say Kabs should be most worried.

I think many on here are being way to harsh about Kabaselle!

OK the scum almost scored thanks to a slight error by him, that incidentally was not entirely his fault as it was a terrible pass which was not only badly executed as it went slightly behind him, but it was also an inappropriate choice of pass due to the proximity of the scummer forward.

Other than that over reaction to his slight error he has been as good if not better than his two CB colleagues, and therefore should not be being castigated by the boo boys on here.

As for who WTE should replace if any of the existing back three, I think that decision will probably be delayed until after the reading game, though I suspect WTE may well be on the bench.
