The thing that increasingly bugs me is the endless goal celebration (and we're as bad as anyone), easily one and a half minutes on many occasions and never reflected in added on time. OK if it's a dramatic injury time goal, but going three up in the thirtieth minute? Just a bit embarrassing when they're still celebrating when the crowd's long finished. Run back towards your own goal with your arm in the air and defy anyone to catch you before the halfway line; if they do they're entitled to jump on your back Mayes and Jenkins style.

He also needs to be fast because Silva likes the backline to press high up the pitch.

The downside of this is being exposed to the long ball counter attack which WBA executed effectively on Sat leading to 1 goal and numerous chances , although tbf Kabasele and Mariappa did a reasonable job.

Thats why Prodl, our best out and out defender, may not be first choice when our CBs are fit.

Macca played for Watford longer and at a higher level. Galli was very elegant, though.

I’ve noticed this at L1 level where I see most of my live football. I jokingly suggested to a friend the other week that maybe they should change the rules (laws for any pedants) so that the opposing team can take the restart a set time - say 30 seconds or a minute- after conceding, whether the attackers are back in their half or not. Would love to see 3 strikers/midfielders busy hugging the fans when they realise the opponents have kicked off and are bearing down on goal!
That and if you kick or throw the ball away at a free kick or throw on the opponents can chose to take the fk or throw on from where it lands or where it left the pitch if that’s more attractive than where the foul occurred. Boot the ball 50 yards upfield to waste time and find the fk is taken from the edge of your box as opposed to the opponents!

Agree on both - football as a sport, and the administrators and referees have made a rod for their own backs. No ******* around - have a moan at the ref, yellow card. All the refs want to be best mates with the players and there is no discipline left, which means it has all got too subjective. Refereeing is a tough job which they have made virtually impossible - but they only have themselves to blame

I feel sorry for West Brom fans. The national team is actually as dull and negative as their own team.

What a time to be a baggie.

    Boing thud!

Why is it that a keeper never gets booked for time wasting until the last few minutes. Seen it so often that with a team winning by one goal with 30 minutes left the keeper takes an age to take the goal kick. If they booked him as soon as he started to do it then it would vastly improve the game. Foster was doing this with an hour to go but had he been booked for it early enough it would stop it immediately.
