Linekar says he finds Watford's tweet disrespectful to Silva. Hahaha.

The irony of thinking that Watford is the disrespectful party in this! I wonder if his reply would have been the same if Leicester was the club involved?

At 10.30 they have match choice. You can choose any game to watch at 10.30 (unless it’s been live on BT). I watch that, then MOTD and fast forward anything I don’t really want to watch, such as the analyses and games involving Burnley. Quite a dilemma this week.

Thought the thirteen seconds the BBC showed of the Newcastle v Watford fourth round FA cup tie was compelling viewing and very insightful. Well done everyone at MOTD!

I'm going to write an open letter to the BBC soon as someone clearly has an agenda against us on the Saturday night scheduling of MOTD, you can understand us being last like last weeks 0-0 and yesterday behind the giant killings, but why on earth was Man City shown beating Burnley reserves in a dead rubber and other lower league games that went to form. In the previous round poor old Woking fans would have seen thirteen seconds of themselves too due to the misfortune of playing 'Still To Come Watford'

Midweek we'll be on quite early due to playing Spurs but when Brighton come around lets see when that gets shown? If Everton were sitting in 7th and cruising through the cup rounds with a young squad they would be getting eulogised as the second coming of the messiah, MoTD didn't even interview Gracia yesterday , if they did it wasn't as important as Rafa who they did show. Rant over...... for now

I bet the BBC and others are hoping its a Man City/Man U/Spurs or Chelsea final in terms of their ratings!

Can somebody tell me, was that a wardrobe malfunction by Gabby, or is it fashionable to wear shrunken track suit bottoms with clubbing shoes?
I thought it looked dreadful, but that might be because I am an old git.
Yes I know it was a football programme, and not a fashion sow, but.......

    Utter nonsense.

Man City are champions. They put 5 past another PL team. They have a much larger fan base. Why would they not be ahead of us?

But yeah, it’s an “agenda against us”.

Some people really are paranoid. Why not just enjoy our victory, for heavens sake? Life really is too short...

Halftime three clueless numpties asked about Pochettino's decision not to field a stronger Tottenham team against Crystal Palace. As if Hullit was a roaring success as a football manager. Alex Scott decried the decision because Tottenham only have to play little old Watford, Leicester and Newcastle next. Conveniently forgetting that Tottenham lost at Vicarage Road. As has been mentioned countless times on these forums the standard of punditry is appallingly biased, ill informed and misleading.

It's one of the strange obsessions of British football that the only people allowed to have a televised opinion on football are ex-pros, many of whom are thick as mince.

Having lived in a couple of other countries, I can say it's not always like this. They tend to have panels with journalists or professional pundits who know their football and perhaps just one ex- or current pro. I've always found it far more enjoyable and insightful, and the pro has to up their game as there is no cosy old boys' network.

I did enjoy the victory a lot and was hoping to see more on tv, and I enjoyed watching the two goals after sitting through Swansea, and Bristol City's games too, the latter being having been played the day before. I also enjoyed Rafa Benitez post match interview as they didn't bother with Javi's. Was our ball number even shown during the draw last time, no even Luton was ahead of us. I also enjoy watching us after the advert for MOTD2 every Saturday night, (I tell a lie, I tape it now and watch in the morning as have figured out there's a pattern there) Are there too many coincidences to be classed as paranoia?

My Paranoia as you put it is born out of fact, I've been watching where we come on MOTD all season and even with comparable scores we are still behind others, maybe the fanbase size has something to do with it but doesn't that go against the BBC's ethics? Therefore it's fair to ask why we are where we are each time. I mentioned the Man City game as I had hoped our goals would be shown after as we also were an all premier league game.

It's a bit like the daily newspaper who always features the opposition more than us perhaps because it's rival newspaper is printed in Watford, there are either reasons why somethings happen too frequently to be coincidence?

I'll continue to be 'paranoid' as it's a lot better than being naive

We are even belittled when it comes to betting odds. On radio this morning heard Wolves at 10/1 and us at 16/1 despite us being higher in the league and Wolves not yet through to the next round

There are more factors to consider.

Firstly as a not-quite-so-big club we would have fewer bets on us from non-Watford fans than non-Wolves fans betting on them, hence the odds probably reflect bookies' liabilities.
Secondly, Wolves have a lower league team at home in the replay, most people would expect them to get past (including the bookies), had they been drawn in the 4th round with Brighton say, then their odds would have been longer.
Thirdly, if you think we are longer than we should be then put a few bob on it, as it demonstrates value.
Fourthly the current odds will go out of the window after the draw is made tonight. If we get Doncaster at home and they get City away I would expect the odds of both of the clubs to change dramatically.

I am beginning to quite like being on last on match of the day.
I don't think Ive ever watched the whole program.
Being last just means its easier to skip to about 10 minutes before the end when yellow or green shirts appear and watch that 5 minutes.

I'm not being na*ve, I just don't care about where our game features. I think there are more important things to be worried about. Like whether we win or not.

As for the BBC's ethics, it functions in large part as a commercial entity now so it's not surprising that "bigger clubs" get shown first.

It goes without saying we all worry whether we win or not first, that doesn't mean criticism of our coverage cant be raised especially on the Watford FC On MOTD thread

Yeah, OK. It just puzzles me that people get so het up about it, that's all. And I really doubt there is any "agenda" beyond the fact that bigger clubs always get more coverage. That's not ideal, but it's life. I'd be fairly confident a Brighton fan, say, might be saying similar things.
