Doucoure fit apparently but possibly not fit enough to start.

Chalobah, Cleverley, Okaka, Wilmot and Deulofeu all injured and won't be available for the first game of the season.

Problem with his knee apparently but ready for next week apparently.

Okaka a couple of weeks away so we begin the season with two strikers in the squad.

No return time frame mentioned for Chalobah as well which doesn't sound good

Surely there's time yet for the club to sneak a couple more injuries across the line before 7pm? Can't we loan a tropical disease from somewhere?

My guess at a squad in that case:

Foster; Femenia, Kabasele, Cathcart Masina; Hughes, Capoue, Doucoure, Pereyra; Deeney, Gray

Subs: Gomes, Janmaat, Holebas, Prodl, Sema, Success, Penaranda

Surely the club would have announced his signing already if his paperwork had been sorted. They haven't yet so it suggests he's still not available. He's still not listed on the website as being in the squad either.

Should we get beaten by Brighton on Saturday - regardless whether it's deserved or harsh - the meltdown on this forum will be of epic proportions...........!

Not even sure if a draw will be enough to escape people's wrath.

Hughes on the wing? Probs Sema and then either Capoue or Hughes in CM

Something tells me Sema won't be thrown in at the deep end on Saturday. Hughes and Pereyra as "narrow" wingers in a sort of 4-2-2-2

Subreddit's have their own moderators, so the Watford_FC mods are just some of the guys who use it. Some of those are the guys responsible for the revamp that led to it actually being active again, and that was based on a foundation of renewed sh itposting and memes, so you don't have to worry about random posts being deleted and over-moddery.

I lurk there already, it’s fine. I suspect if you’re a bit older reddit is a bit weird and unfathomable though

To be fair I remember finding it weird and unfathomable when I was introduced to it, you definitely have to just throw yourself into using it to fully grasp the layout and how it works; it looks so lo-fi really, doesn't it? Still, when you know it's brilliant, no need for a ******* appalling redesign to be forced on everyone  The day that becomes compulsory the first death knell will be truly sounded.

When they truly monetise it. Which they will. We will have to look for the next big thing.

As you say easy once you get used to it. With a kind heart, and best intentions, I mean if you are of the silver surfer generation, some might find an app on their phone tricky

Had to explain to my mum and stepfather the concept of contactless payment on the tube last week, TWICE, so yeah, fairplay.

Mine won’t use contactless or pay for things on the internets as everything will be stolen if they do.

Which is fine I’d rather they are safe

    Agreed.

Have to say Deeney looked decent against Sampdoria with another striker to play with...and Im not a Deeney fan.

Was hoping we d have Akaseltzer to play alongside instead of the Wifebeater.

It’s not so bad, looking forward to this:

    Foster
    Janmaat Cathcart Maps. Holebas
    Britos
    Hughes. Capoue.
    Quinoa
    Deeney. Gray

I had to look and check that it was not April 1st.
Tell me that your line up is a joke?
Maps - simply not good enough, never has been. Should have let him go to a Div 1/2 club. His level.
    Britos - Hopeless
Holebas - Should have been sacked from the club
Quinoa - who? Is that not a breakfast cereal?

I think your line up would struggle in the Championship

Agreed. I'll be laughing my bloody socks off for 90 minutes. In my free Watford shirt made possible by MoPlay - Watford may be ****, but you can bet on them to lose every game with the best odds on the market.

No joke, it’s about all there is.

Quinoa is a new bloke we’ve signed last minute jobby. Gino found an unsecured window around the back and sneaked this bad boy out while nobody was looking.

I was excited when I read the Wobby headline and saw a picture of Theo Walcott, I thought we’d signed him at last. Alas no:

Unless its with 10 men for 70 minutes like last season?

0-0 again might be a good bet.

Thinking about that game - how the hell did we manage to keep a clean sheet given our defence last season!

Or was it Brighton were just rubbish?

Yes - our friend Mr Knock dive was causing problems - hence Britos trying to kick him out of the game.

But think 2nd half was pretty even and they didn't create much - not that they did in too many games.

Apart from the one at Brighton which could have been 4/5-0!

    Kiko Cathcart kaba masina
    Sema Capoue doucoure pereyra
    Deeney gray

Direct football. Long term I suspect more of a 433 with just Deeney up top and pereyra and deulofeu around him

Going to this one (actually, as an aside, was surprised to be able to get two seats next to each other in the Rookery at quite late notice for the first game of the season; maybe it's because we're in holiday season still?).
Love the build up before the opening game - all that hope still. Although, in the case of some on here, apparently not.
I'm reserving any judgement until I've seen some actual football - I refuse to be pulled down into the "we are doomed" line of thinking before a ball has been kicked. If the game is anywhere near as entertaining as last season's opener, I'll be happy. Although sitting a few seats away from Damian Lewis at that match also helped.
