Deeney and Gray then, looking forward to see them together. No Okaka on the bench so looks like Success is the back-up? Got to laugh at Holebas starting, that's going to boil some pi ss, top trolling by Gino and Javi
https://mobile.twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1028264774864257024 Just rubbish. Why the hell is Holebas starting. Just a joke! Should be nowhere near the starting 11. Same goes for Mr. Glass at RB. We now have zero pace in both full back positions and are playing 4 CM’s across the midfield 4. So no pace out wide, no pace in the full back positions, and no width whatsoever. Predicting it now, Holebas will give away a pen and we lose because of him. He will be out of position for at least one of their goals, along with giving away a penalty. I am absolutely fuming. I’m writing a letter, not with a bic, but with a real fountain pen! This will be a letter of intent!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, there really is a serious lack of pace in that team. Some on the bench though, in Sema, Success, Kiko.
So our 5 star window accepting to some Muppets on here, hasn't even affected our first 11. **** off Pozzos.
Few times I've been around that track So it's not just gonna happen like that 'Cause I ain't no holeback girl I ain't no holeback girl
Don’t worry I’m sure deeney and gray are gonna suddenly produce 15 goals each and holebas is gonna have the classic 33 year old resurgence!
"Speaking to @BBCSport pre-match, @BenFoster praises the quality in #watfordfc's squad ahead of today's season opener." Lol, just... lol.
Hoping Deeney will be dropping deep like when his partnership with Ighalo worked. Otherwise that’s a pretty light weight midfield with the exception of Doucoure.
Nice to see Doucs back. Midfield has pretty much picked itself with the injuries. I thought Sema would start but I guess with Troy and Andre starting that put paid to him. Holebas is a surprise but perhaps he’s looked lively in training, my worry is his positioning v Knockart. COYH!
I take issue with your last sentence. There's little any of us can do to affect the outcome of today, with all the positive vibes and cheering in the world. The people who had the responsibility and power to affect serious change, by signing first team players in the key positions we needed, have abdicated responsibility. So **** them. Good luck to the hopeless lot out there today. they have my best wishes and respect, but at least 5 of them should not be starting for a premier league side in it's 4th season. That they are is simply because our owners and scouts are a disgrace
I am behind the team and of course every fan wants us to win today. That doesn’t take away the fact that Holebas is a donkey and we know what to expect with him. Same goes for Janmaat. That’s what makes it difficult to hope for the best because a leopard never changes its spots. Holebas isn’t going to all of a sudden be a rock at the back, beat the first man at a set piece and have positional sense. So getting behind the team is a challenge when you already know what to expect with him and Janmaat on the pitch.
Can anyone explain exactly why Masina is on the bench? He can’t be injured, but equally he can’t be worse than Holebas, can he?
I understand what you're saying but this is Brighton at home not Tottenham for instance. So it's still winnable.
I had thought a few times the one thing we needed to progress is some stability. Maybe we'll see what happens.
Yeah. The bench is ******* horrible. What the **** were we thinking over the summer? Honestly, people who think we've done good business, have a long hard look at that line up and bench. If we go a goal down and are chasing the game, we bring on Mapps and Prodl or What? Our club is a debacle.
Can anyone seriously explain how Gracia has come to the conclusion it's better to play Janmaat at right back than Kiko?
It is winnable and we should bleedin well win. It is a must win game, at home against a relegation rival. This is not the time to be dropping points. We have to win this game. However, Holebas vs Knockaert today is going to result in pen for Brighton, at least one more goal conceded because of him and a red card. Knockaert is a cheating little (fill in the bank) and is up against a hot head with a massive attitude problem. It’s like we haven’t learnt from last year when it was Knockaert vs Britos. Insanity, doing the same expecting different results, springs to mind. I just hope the ref doesn’t full for Knockaert’s antics.
i like it, as my seat is in the Vic Rd end so more chance of seeing 2nd half goals, if we decide to score any. No shout box today?
