How are we all Udinese fans? Excited for the season?

I visited Italy last year! Mirano, about 140km from Udine. Was extremely pleasant!

Also, we need more of you Udinese and Granada fans ;)

    Wikipedia says he's from Oliena.

EDIT: Didn't realised Sardegna is Sardinia in English, my mistake.

When do you find out who you have to play?

Did you play in the group stages last season?

I can speak for myself, I haven't had any chance to be in Granada, but sometimes I watch their matches in streaming and follow their season thorugh a section of my udinese forum dedicated to them, where some mates keep the records updated.
I have many more possibilities to come to England and if I manage to be there in coincidence of your home games, I'll definitely be there.

Simms, I've noticed a lot now you try and correct people when you don't actually have a clue yourself.

    Stop it.

    Hi Udinese,

Do you have any idea of roughly how much money Zola will have to spend at Watford? Also, have we been linked to any players from Italy who aren't contracted to Udinese?

no rumors about Zola's budget. I don't think you'll ever know such details with Pozzo in charge.
no links to other players in Italy yet.
My impression is that palyers with no connection with Udinese it' esasier that they might be picked up in your country.

Why do Udinese agree to sell some of their players but still retain 50% ownership of them? Do Udinese still have to pay some of their wages? What are the benefits of Udinese in retaining 50% ownership of some players, but not being able to play them in their team? Thanks.

It's a very common thing in Italy called co-ownership.

It is a very good form of contract for a club that lives on scouting.
It permits you to actually control some players that you cannot mantain under your ranks because of non european players rules, and it permits you to sell players with a diluted form of payment

which means capital gain spread on 2-3 years and therefore less taxes. Plus the wages are paid by the other club.

Hello to forum users, from another Udinese's fan, living in Trieste, Italy.

I'm really intrigued by this "trilateral team" that the Pozzo's have now, and will gladly cheer for WFC and Granada too, 'cause I really like Pozzo's idea of "financially sustainable" football business.
It's simply BEAUTIFUL when a team of promising youngsters and underrated older players prevails against other teams, which spend 10+ times more money in contracts.
Udinese gave great satisfaction lately in this. I hope WFC and Granada will follow the same road soon.
Good luck for next season to the 3 teams!

Yes I'm a fan, but it's also just a nickname that remain sticked to me among some friends since I used to smoke pipe when I was 18.
Also, thanks for the greetings to Malteser and Voice.

P.S.: about being Sherlock's fan: absolutely great the "Moffat's" BBC Sherlock series! I still have to buy second series. Damned great cliffhanger at the end of first season.

Glad you liked it. He's a pretty decent writer and Cumberbatch is perfectly fitted to play the semi-aristocratic Holmes. Whose your favourite Holmes ? Rathbone or Brett ?

I need not remind you smoking a pipe is not good for you ! ;) Well depending on your genetic constitution of course.

Hearing Udinese on radio and following your game against Birmingham on web.
Currently Udinese leading 1-0 and you winning 2-0.

This might be a great saturday!

Rather sloppy to concede in injury time. Although Jovetic showed why he is such a highly rated player. Guidolin must be doing his nut. I thought it would be 1-1 as La Viola are pretty strong at home.

    Never mind. :(

Bad loss and bad game, although with some bad luck.
It can be accepted as 5-6 of first team began on bench to rest for Braga, but it's worrying that again we did a good first half and had a second half made of just frantic defence.
I hope they'll score a lot and soon in first half against Braga, or I'll tremble in the end.

@Malteser: yes they were on bench, but currently they are sub-of-sub in Udinese. That's why they're said to go to WFC: to play more. In Udinese they'd have few chances to play while they probably can do quite well in Championship and gain precious experience.

Must be noted: one of the best players in Fiorentina was (entering from bench) Cuadrado ... on loan from Udinese!
Groan ... loanees should be forbidden to play against THEIR OWN team! :dismay:
