Legs move me up in your power league lid because Silva is a fookin no mark who should have been laughed out of town.

“So what have you achieved in English football Mr Silva.”

“Well I nearly kept Hull up that time.”

“OK we’ll be in touch, the door’s over there.”

    Everton that. *****.

Showed it live on sky last night in their "reports from around the grounds" programme. Very cocky over-confident run up and then awful penalty. Big cheer in the house as he missed it.

Realised this morning that I haven't ventured on here in a while.

Early Silva conclusions - we are light years ahead of where we were last season as far as our attacking play goes. Richarlison has been largely excellent, Sigurdsson has been a totally different player and a couple of our other new signings have been really impressive.

Don't think we got the points our performances have deserved at times - away at Bournemouth, Wolves and Arsenal I felt like we "deserved" more points in each game than we ultimately ended up with. Huddersfield and West Ham at home were really poor performances though. Going out of The League Cup was annoying, but we made 8 changes so perhaps the disjointed display we saw can be at least partly understood.

Couple of good wins against Fulham and Leicester in the last two league games, but it's still a bit early to be forming a proper opinion on anything.

Defensively we have looked open at times and it's almost reminiscent of how we were under Martinez. Still not convinced we have this zonal marking thing nailed (Leicester v nearly grabbed an undeserved point on Saturday with a header 6 yards out from a corner in the last minute of stoppage time that they inexplicably put wide) and Silva has annoyingly persisted with Calvert-Lewin at times when his lack of quality has been evidently a hindrance.

Still far too early for people to be moaning - only three of our six summer signings have been fit enough to play. Bernard only started his first Premier League game on Saturday, whilst we still have Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina who haven't kicked a ball for us yet.

It's certainly very different to the last couple of years and there's been plenty to like about it, but equally there's a few reservations in these early days.

    Really happy for you mate.

Meanwhile, we're getting smashed 4-0 at home to bournemouth.

Not seen your highlights yet as I didn't get back from Leicester until late on Saturday and I was demolishing a garage yesterday, but I'm assuming there was a reason for the scoreline as that's not typical of results so far

The reason is we've got an imbecile for a manager who's been found out already.

Silva now appears to be the real deal. Richarlison too. He may have stopped scoring for us, but he was still getting into scoring positions just fluffing the shot/header. It was obvious that wouldn't last forever.

    You'll beat us 5-0.

Was only two weeks ago that a small number of fans were calling for Silva's head, bit premature to be lauding him yet.

We haven't looked remotely like we are going to give anyone a hiding just yet

Don't normally hold ill feeling towards people who leave us under bad circumstances etc but there's something about Marco Silva and the way he did it that I really dislike so it's very annoying to see them get lucky against Palace tonight.

I pray we beat them when we play

Scrattiest of scratty wins v Palarse. Looked like a 0-0 all over.

The latter fluffed a penalty, awarded after poor Wilf Zaha was abused in the area (again). Then, with 5 mins left, after looking on top for most of the match, Palarse just folded.

Both teams looked awful. Palace look totally toothless. I’m annoyed I wasted about 60 minutes watching that turgid display only to switch over the the Wembley NFL game to see it had been a cracker.

    Bit harsh this.

We rode our luck a bit at times, but Palace are very well set up defensively. Ultimately Silva's changes made a huge difference - this is the kind of game we weren't winning a month or two ago. Gradual improvement.

Shame our game against Watford has been moved to a Monday night - guessing this means you lot won't be bring as many fans? Or am I doing you a total disservice?

What you should have written was 'Palace are very well set up defensively, apart from that ridiculous oaf Sakho, who is guaranteed to do something monstrous every game'.

Good subs but Richie didn’t inspire.

A lot of running & a BAGA award winning roll when chopped down but didn’t create too much.

As much as I dislike Silva he does seem to be getting things right but Palace are a poor team currently that barely score any goals (none at home so far i think) so lets not get carried away! You are probably right about the away following for the game up at Everton. Monday night live on the TV will certainly reduce the amount going but I think the fact it's against Silva may mean we still have a tidy following

Ha, yes. I thought that we were at our most dangerous when Sakho had the ball trying to play out from the back and we were pressing him.

Agreed. He didn't really do much yesterday. Thought Palace dealt with our attacking players very well overall. That Wan-Bissaka kid is like a young Thuram, he is going to be some player.

He’s been excellent the couple of times I’ve watched Palarse this season.

Where do players who are too good for Palarse move onto?

Wrighty to @rsenal & I can’t think of any since.

Obviously, Wilfried has some weird contract which prevents his leaving SE25 after what happened Oop North.

That game yesterday just seemed like a game where both teams were trying hard but were bereft of a striker each. For as good as Zaha and Richarlison can be, they are better in one of the wider positions in a 3 man attack, as opposed to trying to be the spearhead. Pain's me to say it, but I think if Moshiri buys Silva a decent No.9, they have the makings of a good side. I can see Palace threatening the bottom 3 this season however.

Richarlison did well as a striker the other week away to Leicester - early suggestions that it'll be a good option to play away from home. At home, against a side defending deep and in numbers, like Palace for most of yesterday, he's not really that effective as you probably need more of a focal point - thought we looked much better with Tosun in attack when he came on (a player I really like, but maybe he isn't the level we need if we ever have aspirations of cracking that top 6).

Everton have been banned from signing academy players (10 to 18 year olds) and find £500,000 for breaking Premier League tapping up rules.

Lets see how the Scousers deny that and make it our fault with them being the victims.
Sets a good precedent for the League taking action against them.
£500000 got to sting a bit as well
Snakey sanctions and fine next please - or just before Christmas as a little present for them all

Been on the cards for a while - the guy responsible, Martin Waldron, has been sacked

Can't argue with it - other clubs have had similar bans - Liverpool and Chelsea spring to mind, so there's precedent and we've clearly broken the rules here

Have to take it on the chin

Tip of the iceberg. Finally Everton's cheating antics are unravelling. Hopefully our compensation is next.
