I think its their sign-off code.

It makes sense for us as individuals to try to figure it out (in case one message style tries to mimic the other), but it does not make sense for us to discuss it with each other.

Agree no discussion but yesterday there was a well known acronym so wasn't sure if just me not knowing this one.

Never sure how helpful these have actually been to team good...

Good afternoon fellow Watfordites! It is your wise old seer here again. I viewed Cthulhu - they are GOOD. Bummer.
Yesterday I viewed steve harrow, who was GOOD.

I believe it just helps group the messages together when they are similar in style.

So someone has viewed both the new guys in the first two days? That seems a strange decision no?

Would it be likely for new players to be given roles in the first place. Not 100% sure how they are allocated so that might not be how it works.

When I do games, I randomise the result using a number generator so anyone could be anyone.

    42/4/O 41/4/U has named
Steve Harrow and Cthulhu as Good.
Appears a simple and informative style to me

    TTFN PINACS has named
Hornet81 and watford willy as Good
    Slightly more complicated style
? over picking 2 newbies to view

Not unheard of for newbies to get roles. It adds a random element. It may even be random picks.

Nothing concrete to go on from the messages and I wouldn’t really want to sacrifice any of the named players as two of them have been viewed as good and the other two are unknown but unlikely to be Gino. So today’s result is going to be random again. The only thing we know is that at least two, and maybe three, players with roles forgot to play their part overnight. If we can find one of them, we are more likely to find an evil player (although the risk is we sacrifice our guardian but, if they’re going to forget to protect us anyway, maybe it won’t be any great loss…).

I think both messages are from experienced players. A newbie wouldn't put a code in the bottom like this I don't think, unless they've gone through all the previous games.

I believe the 42/4/O 41/4/U messages are the seer. Its natural to pick experienced players to view first as if they're evil they are more dangerous. Wolfie is picking newbie players to potentially cause them to panic a little bit.

I agree with HappyHornet regarding the ones who weren't active, even if that causes me to go.

4 goods isn't great either way so we should look at those not posting late yesterday or so far today as a starting point?

I agree to an extent however we have had two messages each day so far fairly early. You would want to look at the non posters for the missing roles but we still have an active evil floating about.

At the risk of falling into a trap, this isn't terrible logic. We do I think though only have an indication of one of those who didn't post yesterday and MIGHT be more likely have some role?

For what it's worth I think seer and Pozzo are experienced players. Given posting style. It may be copied from old games though.

    DAY 1:

    Anonymous Message #1 - Received 9:59

Good morning fellow Watfordites! It is your wise old seer here. This morning I viewed steve harrow - he is GOOD. Sorry I couldn't have been of more use. See you on the training pitches.

'Tis the wise seer here. First viewing on day 1 was for Hornets81 - He is Good.

I will be looking to help in whatever way I can, so sorry I couldn't get an Evil one on the lottery of day 1. Tomorrow is another day!

    TTFN

    DAY 2:

    Anonymous message #1 - Received 11:27

Good morning all, and a collective drop to the bench for all our Louza-esque lethargy yesterday!!!!!

Its your wise seer again. I looked at those that were relatively inactive to try and root out a lazy bad one or forgetful newbie. I therefore viewed watford willy - He is Good.

I'm still on the case for a bad one so have faith!

I too am inclined to believe the latter message is the actual seer, but I do find it strange that a wolf would go before the seer with their message.

It would leave them very open to being named by the seer and not being able to 'throw people off the scent' with a follow-up message.

To me the first message comes from someone less experienced, or perhaps Gino. It doesn't mention who was viewed yesterday, and that lack of information is a slight hindrance for team good.

Agreed Tom, that and they didn't opt to change the style of the message after the first message yesterday.

I think I'm inclined to agree with everyone that we should lynch someone we expect to have been inactive last night.

There was at least one wolf inactive, and the guardian too. I'd say it is more than likely there were two wolves inactive last night.

I'm on a call whilst reading these, so I may have missed something.

Why would they have changed the style of the message?

Pretty obvious which pair up but nothing I can see to guide us - so far. Would love to say the messages naming me are from the Seer but actually Gino will know precious little at this time.
Me - named good yesterday and today.
    Hornet81 - named good yesterday.
Watford willy - named good today.
    Cthulhu - named good today.

    Otherwise... on my radar:
Skyla - personally I'm still unsettled by her comments yesterday. Enthusiastic or evil?
Harrow Orn - didn't post yesterday and said online from 9pm. Inactivity might more likely suggest villager but equally we did have inactive roles not messaging Otter last night. Daft or devil?

So that the messages are different enough to distinguish, a seer posting a message with a similar style to an evil message is more often than not hindering the game.

As in their first message of the game.

Yep, I'm erring on the side of the Steve and Cthulhu viewer as being the seer, but I'm especially cautious. We lost a game a while ago specifically because everyone was so sure that one set was from the seer, but it was from the alpha. I think we were super unlucky though, in that the Seer had viewed the Tinker on day one or something.
So anyway, that doesn't tell us anything useful to decide tonight's vote. I'm sticking with HH24.

As there is a traitor in the game, is it safe to assume they would have voted for Miked knowing that Mike was good?

There's a good chance they would have but a number of reasonable scenarios where they wouldn't have.

eg. voted late and saw Miked was already doomed - no need to tie yourself to a dead man who was about to be revealed as good
If Skyla is also good (doubtful) then also could have voted for her, knowing that either one of them being lynched was good for team Pozzo.
