Well worth it for £13000 a minute in the Championship. Another awful signing given his injury and fitness record. What's the point of signing a player who is almost perpetually unavailable. Another sign of a sick poorly run club.
Eventually we'll fall to a level where this will be true, it's just a question of whether his body will hold up at his age!
Another in a long list of signings who seem to be capable of improving the team, but who are allowed to not exist for extended periods of time, for often unexplained reasons
Waste of money and space if he cannot play regularly. Ten appearances for a grand total of 229 minutes this season. Well worth it I'd say. Another of Gino's appalling signings courtesy of his chum whose name seems to have disappeared into the ether round these parts.
I was told by someone close to the club that Kalu costs us money in fines every time he makes an appearance. All to do with the name on his shirt being different to the name we registered him as. Plus, he refuses to have the name changed on his shirt, so we just don’t play him. It all sounds so far-fetched that in a Watfordy world it could just be true. No doubt Andrew French will tell all when Kalu (or whatever his name) has long since left the club.
Seems only reasonable that he'd want his real name on his shirt, as opposed to the ficticious name we registered him under (presumably the name of some young Nigerian who would have been 25 now, if he hadn't sadly lost his life at the age of 15, 10 years ago).
Isn't it quite common to have different names on shirts, Kiko for example had his first name as opposed to his family name, and Brazilian footballers often have nicknames
On the EFL website he's down as Ojim, Samuel Kalu, so having Kalu on the back of his shirt is literally no different to what Kiko or even Joao Pedro do
Just posting what I was told and it was so far-fetched I couldn’t keep a straight face when they were telling me. However, it’s such a random thing to make up and the person in question would have no reason to do so.
If he can roll back the clock to his performances 45(?) years ago, we'll be promoted. Like a new signing, COYH.
Sure, in spirit. Just like any other elderly relative who has now passed on, as long as we remember him he's never truly gone.
Going to be repurposed as a centre forward. Will be just like a new signing. Who needs Sory or Davies ?!!
This is probably correct, or at least it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this turns out to be the case. Yet, the people who have made these deals are still on the club's payroll or are still being used.
I was once perceived to have not done my job brilliantly, and my annual contract was thus not renewed for another year. I can only look on with envy at those fortunate people who have spent the last few years wasting huge amounts of the club’s money (some of which comes to them from the hard graft of their supporters) signing players not talented enough or suitable to play for us, while of course greasing the palms of an agent of dubious reputation..and after all this ineptitude are still considered worthy of gainful and lucrative employment with us! The Kalus and Pussetos of this world have (not through their own fault) condemned us to a summer of mediocrity in the transfer window and no doubt at least a season or two of being mediocre on the pitch too, despite the best intentions of Manga and Ismael.
