Opposition Forum: https://downatthemac.proboards.com/ [SARCASIM]Watford are lighting up the Championship with two outstanding edge of your seat nil nil draws. Both games were so thrilling fans' had to leave the ground early to get over the excitement of them both. [/SARCASIM] Let's be honest our last few games have been god awful. Not only have we failed to score in either, in our last game our Barcelona superstar somehow missed a chance my gran would of buried, then still managed to get himself injured afterwards. You have to laugh at the aspect of it, I mean what else can you really say at this point? Our squad is running on fumes - we are down to the bare bones of what you can call a "first eleven", but's lets be honest here. Our first team is the side we would put out for a Cup game. We cannot rest any of our better players because they are having prolonged rests already. Somehow our patched up defence has kept the ball out of our net for three games, which is something positive. We have picked up 5 points from our last 9 available - not too bad and m0re or less in-tune for a team with playoff ambitions come May. Getting to the match, Huddersfield Town have surprised me this season - how awful they have been. Yes, I know they have lost a few players over the Summer when they lost the P/O final to Forest - and of course they are going to be depleted, but still I would not of expected them to be rock bottom going into the busy Xmas fixture list. They have won, drawn then lost their last three games, so will be desperate for a win against us on Saturday. I do not know how this game will go - or which player will we lose to injury. It might be a case of fielding some U23's just to make up the bench. With Kone' and others joining the fray in January, we have to at least be in touch of the playoffs before that, so a win would be massive for us. But, I am going to be a scrooge here, I think we are going to lose. It's going to another terrible game due to our unbalance squad with Davis forgetting how to run forward with sideways passing, the winning goal being a massive deflection off Kabasele which beats Bachmann rooted to his line. Of course we can win and are capable of doing so, and I think a bit of early Xmas cheer would do us all some good football wise. Drop points here which is very likely, then i feel top two is gone. If we can keep picking up points between now and May we should do just enough to sneak into the playoffs, but I do really worry about our prospects in the PL if we did actually go up again. Finance wise - we more or less have to do it this season or next. With Sarr/JP more than likely to go if we fail this season, it could be our only shot. Huddersfield 1 Watford 0
It's going to be a long drive home after the game if we serve up the turgid display we did on Sunday. Only positive is longer to thaw out an calm down before getting home.
With the exception of Cathcart (who played on Sunday in short sleeves and no gloves) and Pedro, I expect some of our poor brave soldiers will be too chilly to get stuck in again for this one. The others may put a shift in, but are essentially too crap to make a difference. Another tedious, drawn out 0-0 beckons, though the away "0" is slightly less certain as Manaj is injured.
Bachmann Ngakia Kabasele Cathcart Kamara TDB Pedro Asprilla Sarr Davis Sema Hamer, Gaspar, Morris, WTE, Sierralta, Hungbo, Bayo. Huddersfield 0-0 Watford Bilic fails to come up with a game plan once again and edges towards the exit door with another exhilarating stalemate against one of the worst teams in the league.
Eeee… I don’t know what thee’s worried aboot. T’forecast is 4 deg. Record low temperature for Yankee ‘football’ is -25 deg C.
Need this postponed due a frozen pitch. Hate to think what kind of midfield we'd put out, put Sema there?
Which is exactly why these sort of games are very nerve wrecking. It would be so watfordy to lose 3-0 or something stupid like that. I remeber back in the early 2000's seasons we had a home game against Crewe Alexandra. I was so convinced we would win I even made my first ever football bet. I cannot remember how much it was - result came in - we lost 1-0.
Don’t be so entitled, you can’t just expect us to beat Huddersfield… because, erm, oh yeah they were in the Premier League not that long ago. The points we need for promotion will need to come from another team, just not this one… or the last one, or probably the next one either.
Especially as all the trains are screwed again. Seems every time want to get a train in the last year it's been cancelled due to strikes or engineering works. At least my drive back will only be 50 minutes!
Watford 4-0 Huddersfield 4 new long term injuries, rather than goals Due to the frozen ice and our players being make of glass. Goalkeepers and under 17s will soon be on the team sheet in midfield.
Yeah, they send him to a world-renowned expert in identifying shyte players and he confirmed a serious case of it. Dr Mogi of Belgium is the man apparently.
