Nope, two completely different creations. IBB's was the Amazin' Raisin Bar, around for a few years early to mid 70's. Whereas your Aztec was Cadbury's snide Mars Bar. https://www.goodto.com/food/34-retro-chocolate-bars-that-need-to-be-brought-back-immediately-113654 Numbers 14 and 25.
I think they expected to lose Dennis and Sarr but keep JP. Then it was nearly all 3, then at one point Dennis, JP and not Sarr. RE clearly expected to lose Sarr when he arrived. Given the consequences of not getting promoted by 23/24, keeping Sarr and JP was pretty much a no brainer once it became a possibility. The rebuild will be in 24/25 if we are still in the champo. Then we'll need a miracle worker as a manager. In any case Rob wasnt the right choice for a rebuild due to his lack of ability and experience. The guy couldnt even set up a back 4 FFS. I think it was more a case of Scott bullshitting everyone including Gino that the manager of Forest Green Rovers was a cross between GT and Eddie Howe....oh dear, that went well!!!
If we go up Kamara will almost certainly stay, if we don't he'll probably be allowed to choose if he stays at the vic or goes to Udinese. The purpose of his transfer was to cover the money we didnt make on Sarr and/or JP as well as the pretty sh1tty sounding structure of the Dennis deal. Even with the parachute payments and player sales we needed an extra £16m......gulp
It's best to be balanced. Thought that was one of the better games this season, not because of the result, but because of the work ethic (three men pouncing on the stoke defender forcing the error, Sarr running onto the short back pass etc). Also have to be fair and say Sema, who I personally think is very limited, had a great game. Yes Stoke weren't great and made a whole number of catastrophic errors at the back, but many of those were forced by us. As much as Louza changed the game in my view, we had created a number of opportunities before he came on. So it's work in progress but a hell of an improvement vs EVERY game I've seen this season
True, but he's made our talented players do better which covered the weakness of our dross. We'll have a better idea of what's in store when we play on Wednesday.
The result /performance might be a standard setter for the fans and board I guess. But yes probably fair to say Swansea will potentially be better or certainly have more confidence than Stoke did .
Louza was the difference. Pretty average, scrappy Championship affair before his introduction. I agree that we wouldn’t have won that 4-0 under Edwards, but anyone who already claims Gino’s been justified is missing the wider point entirely.
That shot from the edge of the area which hit the post wasn't that good a chance tbf, it would have been a brilliant goal had it come off. The Sierralta header was probably that chance they're referring to, but until Louza came on, I wouldn't say we were dominant and carved them up at will
If we would have got to 60 mins 1-0 up with Louza to come on, I fancy we'd have strolled to victory even under Edwards, but the thing is would we have got to that stage considering we were 1-0 up because of a beautiful ball from Kamara into Sarr, both playing in their 'natural' positions!
Edward’s was binned off partly because he couldn’t motivate the team, which was obvious by the fact we were second to pretty much every ball, started game’s really slowly. Bachman said the team lacked intensity. Correct decision to sack him, incorrect decision to recruit him
I don’t think you know how this place works… please report for mandatory re-training in the politics section.
Sounds like Hodgson. And Ranieri. And Ivic. Maybe at some point someone might like to tell Bachmann that the problem might be with our wonderful players?
All the talk about Sarr, Pedro and Dennis this summer, the reality is Louza is the best player we've got in the squad by quite some distance. If he stays fit then we go up automatically
He sort of said it was the players - guess they will all be pointing at each other in training tomorrow.
A great result and with Bilic we may well get that promotion. He's done it before after all. Nonetheless it still does not detract from the two idiots who run the club. And their short term planning as emphasized in the managerial turnover. It indicates a lack of preparation and due process when appointing staff and playing personnel. Their recent decisions over the last three seasons have been well below par which has led to the situation we are in. Strategic planning seems to be completely absent. Should we get promoted we'll back in the same boat. The Xisco dilemma to stick or twist. And that of Edwards. Will Bilic be backed properly. Edwards did fail to understand the basics of player selection in that you always players in the positions they are best at unless by necessity and to be flexible tactically. But one cannot deny he was hardly backed by the regime. I'm sure he would have had some players he had earmarked that were not chosen and the ones that were. Well they were not suitable to that system. Particularly at the back. Louza missing was also key. He at this level should be able to control games by himself.
Oh if we go up, we'll probably be worse than we were last season, if that's even possible, but I still do have the feeling that this is the season it all blows in our faces, we have a very thin squad who, whatever you say about Edwards' tactics, struggled without Louza, and we've given Sheffield United and Norwich a 6/7 point head start. Bilic deserves a statue if he can get us up from this position!
Well this is the result of poor scouting, successive poor windows and this horrible relationship with that individual from Belgium. A competent team should be able to get in quite decent youngsters continually and cycle them on and improve them. Now we have a paper thin squad full of holes. It might well get promotion under Bilic but how can it be improved next season given the possible state of the club's finances partly due to the amount of money that gets squandered each season.
Hause, Choudhury and Davis were great signings and we kept Sarr and Pedro ??? Just how much backing was he expecting? Or does the fact the we didn’t sign a decent RWB mean “he wasn’t backed” because he only knows how to play one way ?
Tight but not obvious. Some Stoke fans were trying to say the 2nd was too or rather the ruling was unfair although put in their place a bit by others. https://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/305931/watfords-2nd
He was just off, but to be quite honest, it was tight, pre-VAR and it probably doesn't get spoken about (it barely got a mention anyway as the final score was so emphatic!)
Id imagine Bilic took one look at our squad and thought 'fokin ell I'll av some of that' No sane championship manager would turn down a squad as good as ours. He might ask for a couple of players in the window but he'll fancy his chances of getting us up with this lot. Behind his cheesy smile Rob's attitude to the club was very childish, petulant and whiny. He wanted to play his 'special' league 2 system. Ooh if only we'd got the chance to sing 'its just like watching Forest Green Rovers' LOL. Throwing Gaspar under a boss cos Rob cant organise a back 4. Going with 4 'senior' players to demand more power and Giarretta is axed when he's only won 3 games outside league 2 in his whole career. If you want more power try winning some football matches u Telford snowflake.
We were aggressive, strong and looked far less nice. Going forward we looked cavalier, I am liking this approach from Bilic and the formation he picked would have been the one I would have based on the squad we have. Whilst I was quite vocals about not agreeing with Edwards sacking, it definitely was the right call by Pozzo. We did look very ponderous at times and our midfield to attack transitions were a bit lacklustre under him. Also Louza is back! Hopefully this will kick-start our season now. Also, in Ken Sema and Keinan Davis we have a world of hurt for opposition defenders. Loved them both and Kamara... this is why you simply have to play him at left back. Edwards take note.
I agree, Sema gets a lot of stick but actually he is not a bad Championship player, in fact he is under-rated going forward just not very good at defending!
He won a league playing 3-5-2, he was hired on the basis of being given more control and time than other managers and would be “backed come hell or high water”. Whether he is any good as a manager or not is besides the point, wanting to play his preferred system is neither childish or petulant! I know you hate Duxbury, but you seem to have extended that hate to Edwards simply because he was Duxbury’s choice, which to me is very odd.
I thought our second goal was going to be chalked off, sema was a mile offside when the first ball was crossed over, then he got back onside to finally score. Very odd that the goal stood whilst Kayembe's recent scorcher was dissallowed.?? Offside rule is a joke these days.
