Alex Neil looking a bit mad for swapping Sunderland for Stoke, because Sunderland are looking decent, and Stoke the same old mediocre Championship slop they've been since relegation

Yes that still looks a strange decision.
Great win today. Always good to see our team win, and 4-0 away from home is about as good as it gets !

I am happy with the performance, and very happy with the result. Just checking, is that allowed?

Now Bayo has warmed up he’s scored 3 in his last 5, the equivalent of 28 goals across the season.

    What a snip at £5m!

4-0 is a emphatic result away from home, but I look forward to seeing them not be so sloppy in their passing and not allowing the opposition so many corners even if they couldn’t get on the end of them!

I thought Stoke actually matched us for long periods, however we had a gear to go up and they couldn’t live with us when we did so!

A few half hearted ‘we want Gino out’ chants pre-kick off.

We were excellent at points today and looked devastating going forwards. Stoke we’re absolutely *****.

Time for a pint and to enjoy Utd capitulating. COYH.

Really good win, albeit we needed Louza and a Stoke collapse to help us along the way

a 4-0 win should not change the questions that many of us would like answered about transfer dealings through a corrupt agent, poor selection of Head Coaches, building a long term identity through stability etc etc….but it does help

Who'd have thought that telling a squad that has various players either too good for the Champ or clearly in its top echelons to be 'positive and aggressive' in their approach would reap such dividends? Who'd have thought that telling such as Gaspar 'play like a regular right back' and he might, you know, look OK? It's almost as if RE thought he still had the FRG squad in the Champ and that he needed to work some strange wizardry to get results.
A bit like Ivic treating the Champ like the EPL.

He is actually starting to look half decent. Was visibly more confident on the ball when he came on. I'd sooner have him over the options we had last time we were in the Championship

I'm struggling to understand Gaspar. He's either technically absolutely woeful, or he's just massively short on confidence.

Not bad by any stretch today, but still offering us a Lee Hodson level option at right back

Still pretty devastated by the win, I'm not going to lie. Pozzo’s actions suddenly become justified for many and we're back to normal again. Sad times, we'll never get the club back until he leaves but I guess some people aren't bothered about that anymore.

Also took a peach of a free kick that gave Sierralta an open goal he somehow managed to miss.

But aimlessly hoofing and passing for the sake of passing are not the only two possibilities.

With Edwards far too many of our passes were sideways and backwards, and Bachmann couldn't really to be blamed for that - it was more our back 5 and central midfielders, (more so Choudhury) too often just taking the easy option of passing backwards, rather than being a bit braver in moving the ball between the lines.

In order to give the defenders a chance to pass it forwards, Bachmann needs to pass it to them to begin with as opposed to hoof it, and every time he did hoof it the ball came right back.

Very. When we lost control for a while after our goal I genuinely thought we could lose the game in a similar way to QPR. A half-way decent side would have punished us and a few still will. But not Stoke.

Louza did make us seem a lot better though, more controlled.

Awful, and there will probably be 5-10 teams worse than them this season. We really don't need to be that great to succeed this year, in this awful division.

Stoke were **** apart from that spell of pressure at the beginning of the second half, we improved and took advantage. Having Louza back is a massive lift.

Will be interesting to see us once Bilic has worked a bit of his magic in and we are at full strength.

    Gino is still a ****.

Fantastic to have a manager that knows what he’s doing. Glad Edwards was sacked as it was fully deserved. Embarrassing performances, tactics, substitutions and so on under him. It was obvious we needed to play a back 4. It was obvious our strongest formation is 4231.

    We lose today under Edwards.

Great start to Bilic’s reign and under him we will finish in the play-offs bare minimum.

Right system to fit squad instead of shoe horning players to try and fit a system. RE sacked himself. Thought we bossed first 30 mins and last 30 mins. Fully deserved win. 4231 perfect for this squad. Kayembe and Hamza in front of back 4 and JP, Louz and Sarr as 3 behind KD and I think we may yet rescue a season that looked in danger of petering out before it started.

Didn't see the 2nd half but the first half we should have been 4 ahead and a decent confident side would have utterly smashed Stoke today. The number or times we messed up a simple pass through or failed to capitalise on acres of space was criminal. But Stoke were worse than dreadful in constantly giving us the space. I guess the 2nd was us being a bit more ruthless and Stoke being the same.

Still, good to get a few goals and hope we grow from here.

    Thoughts on the game:
    Gino (R)out.
This squad fookin screams 4 at the back: Rob u nob.
If Gasper and Ngakia dont cut it, lets play Harry the Hornet at RB in a back 4 til the window.
Bayo might need a few chances to score but his movement is too good for the champo.
Round pegs in round holes aint rocket science Rob u nob.
Never ever let Scott Duxbury choose your manager.
Essentially most of us are (happy) whores, give us a 4-0 away win in the champo and we will love u long time.
Louza can do it in the champo on a lazy sunday afternoon in Stoke but can he do it on a cold hertfordshire night under the lights at the vic? (Answer: probably yes)
Hysterical narcissistic weirdos on twitter and Cult of Duxbury sycophants can kissssit.
Being a nice guy with a sweet smile like Rob doesnt get you anywhere if u aint got no end product.
Davis, Sarr, Sema, JP, Bayo, Louza, Choudhury, Asprilla, Hause, Kamara: If u wanna watch a club with a great academy go and watch Boreham Wood and leave us to enjoy this lot.
The top of the champo is a dog fight but at least we now have a dog in that fight......

    Enjoyed that.!
New manager knows how to play in this division, clearly told the players to play with confidence but to remember what their main aims are... Work hard, run for each other, pass, and if in doubt hoof it (eg Sierialta)
Just after half time I thought we were back to usual - rabbit in headlights mode when they chucked all at us, but we shook that off (mainly when louza came on).
4231 definitely seems to suit these players, I'm happy with Kayembe/Choudury as rearguard and I think they helped cover the CBs. Shame about titch in CM, I thought could have a masterstroke but needs a year or two to grow.....
