5 out of our next 8 at home. The situation will be a lot clearer after those games and the window closing. Bayo, Manaj and Davis have come in as replacements for King Cucho and Dennis and you'd hope we'll bring in a higher quality replacement (than those 3) for JP. Sarr wouldnt need to be directly replaced given Rob's system but if he goes we have to bring in an RWB and ideally 1 that is totally gangsta. What today showed is that with goalscoring strikers we would be in with a great shout of promotion. The idea that Gino and his pal Mogi can't even source championship goalscorers anymore is embarrassing really. This squad with Ighalo, Vydra and Deeney cerca 2015 would be fantastic but Deeney was already here when Gino arrived and he got Ighalo and Vydra from his daddy. If we're relying on Mogi Bayat to provide our goals, we're probably fooked.

Yeah but look at their 10 year history! We got an impressive draw against a Prem team!

We will have to agree to disagree.

Everything you say may well turn out to be right. It may not. We shall see

All I’ve tried to do tonight, nicely and with good intentions, is to try to get us all to focus on the actual facts rather than the preconceptions people have that they then present as fact.

I’ve read somebody tonight even say they didn’t see the match and then proceed to write off the rest of this season. To me that logic makes no sense. Nor does it to say there weren’t any good individual performances today or that our new strikers are bad recruiting, without adding the proviso ‘so far’

Ditto people getting angry at the club over the Pedro ankle thing, when actually the club never said he’d hurt his ankle. But again it fits the narrative to have a moan. We must be being lied to etc. Even though the club didn’t say it!

Whatever happens over the coming weeks, tonight we sit in the promotion places and are unbeaten. That’s fact. Not opinion. That’s what I prefer to focus on because it’s better for me staying cheerful that way.

That line up stunk to be fair. Didn’t watch the game, I don’t think we’ll concede many this season but if we don’t get proper replacements we won’t score the goals required either as it’s hardly a team full of goals across midfield and wingbacks either.

A lot currently hinges on Keinan Davis being really, really good. (And injury free)

I think we got Iggy at the perfect time - he was brilliant over that period. I know a lot of people have been dying to get Vydra back but I cannot see it happening unless it's a free transfer. Today was just one game with our new look strikers - like you said, give them a few more games and if they still play like Success and Gray, then we seriously worry. If you actually look past them - our midfield does have more creativity now, but can any of them score at least 10 a season?

Obviously meant 4 in 5, but the point still stands. Two of those absolutely do not happen if you put Bayo/Manaj/A.N.Other in place of the three mentioned above. We simply have to sign a top striker for this level. Very concerned about our squad now.

I think he is really really good, but won’t be injury free. So Bayo will clown around up front

Any chance we can nab Fletcher back? We need a fox-in-the-box sort of player.

Forget the drought. There's but one drought in Watford. A goal one.

Didn't see the game but had Oxford supporting friends commiserating about Pozzo and wondering if SEJ will be coming back but hardly surprising we scored nil. Fair play to Preston. Nice set of fans as well. But four goals in five is hardly going to set the pulses racing. I'll give Bayo and Manaj some time to see if they can settle in but they're not on the level of Pedro or Dennis in ability whatever else Pedro is lacking at the moment in clinical finishing or getting the head up from Dennis.

I reckon Manaj and Bayo were seen as cheap options for Dennis leaving, but if Sarr and Pedro now leave then I would expect us to go out and buy a proven striker for money, not just look for cheap loan options...

Manaj and Bayo still make no sense to me as they’re both crap and neither could be considered first choice.

First game I have not attended this season and we fail to score. If Gino wants to use some of the Kalu wages to pay my travel expenses, I have next Saturday free at the moment.

I think you have more chance of Duxbury speaking one honest sentence than getting your money out of Gino's cold grasp.

Keeper has a less than 50% chance of guessing the right way, even if it was an awful pen from Sarr. There is some luck involved

Sarr missing his penalty wasn't luck tbf. It was just a crap penalty.

It’s kind of bad luck we had to settle for a penalty because without the foul, we might have scored.

That’s why I included it on my list.

The actual penalty was poor rather than unlucky.

The positives are we're second despite all sorts of issues and imbalance in the team. Edwards is clearly a talented coach and we look tough to beat. The negatives are that Bayo and Manaj look like massive downgrades on Pedro/Sarr and basing it off today they look more Geijo than Vydra. I hope i'm wrong, but it's concerning how much Bayo was being bullied given he's a pretty big lad. Hamza and Asprilla looked really good and even thought Kayembe did well.

The team is incredibly uninspiring, last year was awful but at least we had players I wanted to go and watch. This team, Asprilla is the only one who excites me. We look about 5 players short now. We still need 2 CB's, a RB, 2 CM's and probably another striker.

Choudhury was superb again. Kayembe was a mixed bag of powerful running, sideways passing and kicking the ball off the pitch, but strangely it was one of his better performances. Badly need a ball player in the midfield, Whiteman from Preston would be ideal.
