They will become a Spandau Ballet tribute act. Bold. Always believe in your goals. You've got the power to know you're immovable. Only to be sacked two months into the job.
Something notable - In the first half Roy was sat on his arse as usual, not bothered with Ray jumping up and down on the touch line barking at players and trying to influence things. In the second half we switched to 343/3412 which have been RE’s favoured formations - Lewington sat on the bench next to Roy for the entirety of the second half while a much younger coach (doesn’t take much) was up and instructing the players and subs. Weird.
What a ******* disgraceful day. **** off Roy **** off players **** off Bayat **** off Giaretta **** off Cuxburry **** off Pozzo. Rob Edwards’ Taylor made army.
Bayat being there is a p1ss-take right? https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffsb&q=mogi+bayat+criminal&atb=v214-1&ia=web
Just more massaging from the Pravda boys. Anyone could see the plethora of empty seats. No disguising the fact with dummies or mock ups.
Had all intentions of staying till the final whistle and supporting the players but unfortunately didn't make it till the end couldn't bring myself to support that ,just like the we got the ball embarrasing chant ,we always mistakes every week but masinas wipeout of cathcart really takes it to another level,
I didn't really expect to win today,, but I certainly didn't expect to give Leicester 4 goals of our own making, had we managed to cut out mistakes at the back ALL season we would have given ourselves half a chance of staying on the division!
In fairness, I don't think we're unique in counting season ticket holders even if they don't turn up, but apparently we are one of the worse offenders for that
They announced a 20k+ attendance which was clearly ********. I they count season ticket holders so that must the 5 to 8k who didn’t show.
To give some context of how half-hearted the anti-Hodgson/Duxbury chants were, I was in the Rookery, but thought at first they were anti-Foster chants...
Absolutely. Ah, come on. They are not all terrible. I am just not a happy clapper. This site is just for fun. The club and players couldn't care less what we write on here. It makes no difference to them at all. We are all fools if we think it does. It just doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. My prediction for 2022/23. At best, Mid to lower half. At worst, relegation to League One. As you will know, my bets never pan out. That is the one thing on the side of Watford.
Kenny Jackett and Steve Terry made their debuts in a 1-5 drubbing at Sunderland, bloody Pop Robson, and it didn't work out so bad for them in the end, so why not play the youngsters.
Unfortunately, there was. A fittingly pointless act. Surprisingly the defenders managed to navigate themselves round the pitch. The worst pairing since Vialli and Wilkins. Never darken this club's doorstep again, Tweedledum and Tweedledumber:
Well your avatar had a blinder on the audio. His drivel knows no bounds including wondering aloud if we are being too unfair about the players. Also, saying that Sissoko has been an outstanding signing and also babbling on about how good Foster is at the end. To think they will be charging people to listen to him next season. Appalling.
Changed his tune from previous times then - or someone had a word. I guess we won't have the Hive stuff season as fans will be at games.
Add to that the most times I left before the final whistle. I never did that prior to this season. It won't happen next season though. Because I've not renewed my season ticket.
I feel your pain. I think every fan of Watford feels it. But I would like to put it into some type of perspective. We have been dreadful but dreadful in the best league in world football. It’s still a hell of an achievement for a club of our size and financial backing to be there in the first place. The Pozzo’s are now tapped out in the top league. They don’t have the financial backing to make us competitive, hence why we’ve made so many poor decisions. It’s all down to not having enough money, This season they’ve cut corners to try and fast track us. They gambled on a host of mercenaries which backfired badly. I choose to believe for the first time they’ve really understood the enormity of the problem. Last time when SD said “lessons would be learnt” I think he was referring to the salaries players were on. There was no provision for relegation, which for a club like Watford, was sheer arrogance. The lessons didn’t include looking at player character, communication with the fans and true squad building with an identity via a head coach/manager. I think now that penny has now finally dropped, but we will see if that’s really the case in the coming months. I don’t think the club has any choice but to put their faith and trust in Edwards, but that’s a huge ask of him and he needs proper support around him. We desperately need a Director of Football. I did suggest Roy in the past, but he’s now so toxic, he would represent the opposite of a fresh start, but someone who has that stature in the game. Who knows football inside out and understands what Watford needs from a footballing perspective. Scott and especially Gino have proven, no matter how good they are at a business level, they fall short at running the club from a footballing side. It might be a bitter pill for Gino to swallow though, as I suspect he still believes he’s the oracle of everything. So I will still support the club fully. Will still go to games and will back the new coach, but my own personal tolerance levels will be tested if we fail next season. By that I mean if we continue down the road of clueless chaos. We have to show we are now building something sustainable and hopefully successful long term. If we don’t do this then I suspect the majority of supporters will demand change at the very top.
When Gino is sat in the directors box looking out at a half empty stadium for a premier league fixture, with Bayat next to him whispering sweet nothings into his ear, I don't see that lessons have been learned.
In a way the thousands of us who stayed away are also culpable. We could have turned up with banners and protested, but we're too apathetic and too dispersed among the clappers to make anything happen. I guess a protest with your feet is at least a protest of some description.
I went…and sat in silence. I’ve gone through the anger phase and hit the totally apathetic stage where I was thinking about how I’d forgotten to add milk onto my weekly shop
I have to say, this is one of my biggest concerns for next season. The very fact that Mogi Bayat has now been seen as consecutive home games tells me that he’s more involved than ever and that the owner really doesn’t hear or care about the noise, optics or potential dangers. I don’t see how they can be claiming to be ushering in a new dawn whilst still entertaining the idea of whoring ourselves out to him almost exclusively. I will make it clear: this next part is my opinion and not being stated as fact. But I worry about the what’s going on. There’s simply no way that I can see that working with him is overly beneficial to the point where the obvious concerns should be ignored. So what is it? What makes him so great that we funnel so much business his way? This question MUST be top of the agenda for all parties at the next meeting. And no party should be fobbed off with the response and must act like a dog with a bone…will they? No.
