Also, we were absolutely ***** today, and we still should have drawn 1-1. That goal wasn't offside was it?
I hope we do stumble over the line for the second spot because, on our showing over the last few games, I really wouldn’t fancy us in the play offs. Thank you to Hive TV for being crap and crashing every time I tried to buy a match pass so I didn’t have to waste £10 or actually see the game - a double win for me. We’re bound to get a few sad Luton trolls on here who have nothing better to do on a Saturday evening; try not to feed them. We’ll get rid of them if they’re too much but, honestly, I think it will frustrate them more if they’re simply ignored.
Could also work both ways. They may want to beat us to increase the chances of our possible down turn in form. They can still reach 100 points remember - surely that's still a realistic target.
I hope you’re right - can go either way; sometimes, with the pressure off, teams relax and play better.
I wonder how much we've wasted on long contracts to crap players that nobody would have wanted? It's bizarre and we keep doing it. Weak link in the team? Obviously not good enough for this level, yet alone the level above? On the decline? A bit of an attitude/injury problem? Zero interest from other clubs? Here's a 5 year extension
To me, the most bizarre thing is we never loaned him out to a championship side. A few of them were desperate for him last year. Would have done us a massive favour this year.
I couldn't watch the game but no surprise we lost This was Luton's cup final given their season is over and we already walked over them earlier in the season, and we have been struggling a bit recently. Injury to Masina pre match obviously very bad luck and impactef the game We were going to lose at some point, can't be unbeaten forever, might as well be this game rather than Swansea or Brentford hopefully Not time to piss the bed just yet
Still annoyed. But only one team turned up and only one team deserved anything from that game. That's very difficult for me to say but it's the truth. Completely out fought. Hopefully that's our one little blip.
Absolutely no chance in the play offs if we don't make second now. AFC B and Tykes have all the momentum and we'd be shot mentally if we fail now. Need to show some mettle for Tuesday. That means TC and Chalobah back. Ngakia too, although as others have mentioned he seems to have disappeared. I'd start Kabs too.
Not sure. From the behind the goal replay it looked like Gray was ahead of all the defenders. But then if the last touch was off a Luton player it’s immaterial.
I’m not sure it didn’t come off a defender’s head & then hit Sierralta before reaching Gray, in which case it would have been the correct decision.
Tbf it has always been like that. To mess up getting automatics from where we were was only ever going to happen due to horrific form. Agree that we'd completely melt in the playoffs.
Usual hysterical response to a loss. We played poorly and deserved to lose. Its the Championship, it happens. Nobody is going to win every game. Just ask Brentford and Swansea. Swansea ,who look to have lost Ayew are pretty much out of it, and Brentford have to play Cardiff and Bournemouth this week. I'd be surprised if they get more than 3 points from that. Just need to beat Millwall and possibly a draw against Norwich and we're there. In fact if we match Brentfords results this week, in any way, we'll be 8 points ahead with Brentford having 3 to play and us 2 to play.
Can’t stand it when players are pulling out minutes before the game. Wouldn’t happen with Aidy, Brenda Malky or Sean. Masina is a good player who has played well for us. Extremely disappointed. Lazaar was not clearly ready and it is down to Watford FC to forget about the standard they have set.
We have finished above Luton for each of the last 24 seasons, so this was always going to be their cup final. The pitch didn’t help, but I thought we were poor and need to make some changes. It pains me to say it but Gray is a much bigger goal threat than Pedro, who offers very little.
This is why I don't buy into all the talk about us having good squad depth. The proof was in the pudding today. The only positions we have any depth in are GK, CB and CM (although, take Chalobah or Hughes out and we're crap). Nothing up top or out wide.
Gray is certainly a bigger goal threat than Success. Pedro's just a young kid, out of form. He'll come good.
Your dont half talk some ****,why would any one need motivation ,surely the fact promotion was in our own hands should be enough motivation for any professional sportsman.
Agreed. To give credit where it's due, Gozzers and Sanchez are reasonable midfield cover, but neither would be desirable for an extended run in the team. I'm not at all convinced Zincers is a player, much less a midfielder. At centre back, we have Sierrelta and then a series of not good enough players. Up front we have lots of terrible options.
We’re going to bottle this. Seeing a lot of “only need to beat X, then avoid defeat against Y and Z”. Anyone who’s watched our last four performances surely can’t have any faith in us to get that kind of return against the top sides in the league?!
One of whom has just managed to concede 2 at home to Wycombe, whilst another did nothing in a ‘must win’ game at home to Millwall. 2nd place will probably go to whoever is less crap over the next 3 weeks & at least we have a nice points cushion.
I can only imagine what it would have been like on here had we gone on the run Swansea and Brentford have been on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
what most people said is there would need to be a hell of a swing in form for us to not get promoted. Watford would have to go from a lose one in 14 to a club only picking up a few points in the last 6. On the flip side Brentford and Swansea would have to go from a won one/two in six to winning the majority of their winning games the latter won’t happen. Not will the former
Looking at the spineless t**t today, I'm sure he was the blind fool that 'saw' a non-foul by Boro recently and handed Swansea a 90+6th minute pen for a 2-1 having missed a clear foul up the other end. And if the stats are right that's the 3rd L*ton win he's recently reffed. He'll probably be having a nettle wine in his caravan in a field west of Dunstable at the moment before he mucks out the pigs later. Gavin Ward reflects on a day well spent.
