just awaiting uniteds interest to fall through, psg to be in the drivers seat and then to hear that juventus are monitoring the situation!
Its an acronym that makes the bed wetters feel better about themselves, as in ‘I might wet the bed but at least I’m not a COG’
2. Yet another thing that makes the happy clappers really really angry. Like having a different opinion to them, criticism of transfer dealings and Troy Deeney's waistline.
I've seen you mention about a left-footed center-back a few times now. Is this based on anything, at all?
Playing out from the back with a back 3 is less fluid if you have a right footed player on the left hand side. It's the reason we were heavily linked with acquiring Branthwaite on loan from Everton as part of the Doucoure deal. It was definitely a priority at some point.
Leventhal has said all summer it’s something we’re hoping to do. Reiterated it last week. He’s not a perfect source but he has repeatedly seemed fairly certain “that the plan” etc and would be a weird thing to make up. I do think that if we’re going to continue with three at the back, a left-footer would be a big help.
Seeing reports of Dembele to United for €75m: https://twitter.com/FApor_elmundo/status/1310991102317662208?s=19
Dembele has always been their no.2 target. The articles linking Man Utd to Sarr were nothing but clickbait and lazy journalism. Rehashed stories from weeks ago. Similar to the Liverpool links, which I also posted and tweeted about. It’s was all nothing and said so weeks ago, before they even signed Jota. Sarr is nothing more than an enquiry that happened weeks ago. United will not pay what we want.
Sancho has now been left out of Dortmund's squad to play Bayern in the Supercup Final tomorrow, because he's "ill" - we all know what that means.
I suspect that if United can bid £100m (£80+20) for Sancho then they will almost certainly just give in and pay the full £106m clause. Or Sancho's agent will be in his ear to put a request in.
Would prefer Dembele going to United rather than Sancho. Don't want Dortmund with lots of money to spend.
Should definitely be easier to arrange and Dembele isn't nearly as crucial to Barcelona as Sancho is to Dortmund
I do think Leventhal often speaks as a fan though - and it would stand to reason that a left-footer CB would be nice to have. But that doesn’t mean to club is actively looking for one. I’m not saying we aren’t. But there aren’t many links to any and as such we have signed two right-footed CB’s. Again, I don’t think Leventhal has any great sources when it comes to our recruitment.
United are being pretty underhand with this whole Sancho thing and not doing their image much good. They’ve known the price and terms all along and now with a few days to go decide it’s time to unsettle the player and selling club. Also just happy to make enquiries about Sarr to maybe unsettle him to even though they don’t really want him.
Guillem Balague (not really sure if he’s ITK these days - suspect not) is saying that United won’t bud for Dembele even if they can’t get Sancho. Sarr looks the immediate backup option at this point.
I’ll be pleased when this is resolved one way or the other. Trying to check if there is any WFC gossip on Twitter is a nightmare of tedious Manu and Pool fans speculating about Sarr or trading insults about our win over Pool. Drowns out any ridiculous links to players we’ll never get, which I want to read.
I don't think Sarr would be a big hit at United - He isn't ready for that yet. One poor game he'll be called all shades of s*** and will end up like Zaha.
We should know either way by next Monday. If Utd haven’t got Sancho or Dembele by then, you would think it’s nailed on, that Sarr will go to Utd. I am struggling to see how Sarr improves Utd, it is patently obvious that they need defenders
Those three are being sold too, hadn't you heard? This league is so easy we don't even need to play 11 men. Just Foster, Cathcart, Sema and Hughes should be plenty.
We can probably get some money for Sema and Hughes. We would still have Stevenson and Garner (on loan).
