Man Utd -Lose Liverpool-lose Palace-win Leicester-win Burnley-draw Southampton-win Chelsea-draw Norwich-win Newcastle-win West Ham-win Man City-draw Arsenal-lose 45 points-phew!
Always a bit of fun, with yellow tinted glasses - predict your scores to the end of the season. I have us down as 60 points and just sneaking in to a champions league place https://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-premier-league/
I only get us to 37 points but above West Ham (36), Muff (33), Villa (33), Brighton (31) and Norwich (23)
There really is no point in calculating points match by match. Other than the fact that we will get caned by Liverpool and MC, they are all unpredictable. We might win any of the rest, but will probably only win a few. Momentum is so important. We had it when we played Muff off the pitch but have now lost it. We need it back urgently.
Yeah some of those draws could be loses. and we might not beat Norwich. Anyone thinking we are getting anything from Utd, Liverpool, Leicester, Chelsea, City or Arsenal is delusional
Liverpool and City: no. Leicester: maybe, on a good day. Surely we're due something at Man U and/or Chelsea? And I ALWAYS think we're going to beat Arsenal.
Never in doubt!!! Be very funny to see Palace go!! I have been as fair as I can but I really don't rate Palace and can see them being in the mire. 13 West Ham United 38 10 8 20 42:63 -21 38 14 Watford FC 38 8 13 17 38:58 -20 37 15 Newcastle United 38 8 11 19 33:59 -26 35 16 AFC Bournemouth 38 9 7 22 37:61 -24 34 17 Brighton & Hove Albion 38 7 12 19 40:57 -17 33 18 Crystal Palace 38 7 12 19 33:53 -20 33 19 Aston Villa 38 8 7 23 46:70 -24 31 20 Norwich City 38 4 8 26 30:71 -41 20
Doesn't really matter about Norwich, if we are concerned about their results we are really in trouble. As long as we win against them of course.
You don't think they will be looking at us and thinking they are only 2 wins behind us and still to play us once ? Would be a shame to overtake AV and WHU only to be overtaken by Narrrch.
Still fancy our run in over Bournemouth's, Villa's and West Ham's. Straws and clutching. Norwich at home Newcastle at home West Ham away 3 cup finals in a row. Anyone got any stats on our cup final success rate?
For me, Norwich are done, that leaves us, muff, spam, villa... so two from four. I don’t think it’ll be the ‘best’ that stay up, but the ‘least rubbish’ - so who will be the least rubbish outta these four, I have no idea but it’ll be tight.
Four wins might do it but can this squad get them? Agree that it going to be the least rubbish stay up but is that us? Imagine having the beat City and Arsenal to stay up....
We are where we are and it's pointless looking back, but it's human to do so. Had we been professional in managing just the last few games, we could have been in a very good position. A 1-1 draw at Villa, a 2-2 draw with Everton and a 1-0 win at Brighton. All should have been the final result in all honesty. The table would be looking a lot better for us right now. We'd be 15th on 28 points, then Brighton on 27, Bournemouth on 26, West Ham on 24, Villa on 23 and Norwich on 18.
As you said at the time, I think we will look back and see that it was the defeat at AV that killed us.
Thankfully all done and dusted by the time we get to Southampton. Palace the only hope for a win in the next four and they will take great pleasure in ripping us apart. Dawson/Mariappa vs a motivated Zaha will be painful.
