Give it a rest. You've proven yourself useless at predicting. More likely with Man U, Ighalo will deliver us a fatal blow!
I get what you’re saying but again, disagree. We are good enough. Today’s result was comical. Pearson won’t let the players get away with it. I fully expect a shake up against Brighton, starting with Cathcart out for Dawson. Don’t forget Pearson won all those games with Leicester when they were dead and buried according to most. It’s far from over.
I'm not optimistic either but it's not just about us is it. All we need to do is close gap of 2/3 points over the teams currently above us over the space of 13 games. Looking at that way makes it seem easier.
Oh shut up mate. It’s a game of football. If you don’t like my predictions, then put me on the ignore list. On a side note that’s a good prediction but I disagree, we will beat Man Utd.
Loved the Adam Masina chant by the way. It broke new ground. I've never known us to use the same chant for two current players. If anything sums up the fanbase and club as a whole actually, it's that.
Yep. As a squad we lack mental fortitude season after season. I’d say only Arsenal surpass us in the cowardice stakes.
You can't be blaming one of our attackers, do you not know all of our problems are because of our lack of investment in our defense.
Snipe about the forwards all you like. The fact is we were 2-0 up against a poor Everton team today and lost 2-3 due to some awful defending. When we go down how many of our strikers and midfielders will be snaffled by premier league or top European teams? How many of our utterly low grade defenders? 6 verses zero?
Two very poor instances of game management in a row from Pearson. Twice taking Chalobah off before losing control of the midfield. Teams tend to fall into 4-4-1 when down to ten men. We went 4-3-3. We had an extra player and ended up outnumbered in midfield with Deulofeu one of them. Madness. Anyone could have worked that out.
Individually our attackers may look better than the defenders, but look at the facts, lowest scorers in the division. Collectively they are the worst. Our defense is performing better than expected, our attackers are performing much worse than they should.
Not anymore. That's now Palace after today. That's Palace who are 13th with scoring less goals than us. Newcastle have only scored one more than us and are tenth. They've both, of course, conceded less than us. But tell me again about how it's the attack that's the issue and not the defence.
I am just home after the game. I'm too tired to read all the previous comments tonight (and I'll look through them all when football exists again to me) so this may have been said already and my sincerest and humble apologies if this is indeed the case, however HOW THE F_#£KING F&£K DOES ISAAC F£@KING SUCCESS EVEN BE IN THE F#£KING SQUAD LET ALONE BE ON THE ACTUAL F&@KING BENCH AND EVEN WORSE UNBELIEVABLY MANAGE TO F£&KING BE ALLOWED ON THE F@£KING PITCH TO F&£KING REPRESENT THE FIRST F@&KING TEAM.
Both times Pearson says he’s been injured. So it’s more about the inadequate replacement/plan than the fact of taking him off.
I thought it was a slight knock or something that was basically making him miss this game but will be back for Brighton?
I would imagine the odds are very high on the exact same thing happening as what happened today. I can't imagine West Ham are feeling great as they were 2-0 and 3-1 up and didn't win against a side in the bottom 6
For heavens sake we had an idiotic manager for a long stretch who packed the defence at home. Of course the strike rate is going to suffer. Additionally do you think it helps the strikers when Mariappa shanks a cross miles over the crossbar like today or can’t pass the ball from A to B without being in a blind panic? If you want to deal in facts teams will be queuing up to sign some of our offensive players. Nobody will be interested in any of our defenders. As a total unit they are dreadful.
Between that stat and my prediction to smash Brighton like we would Villa, we are going to have the forum tinfoil hat pitchfork brigade out.
I read about the 4 home games on the BBC today as well. The stat was that if we had won today we would have won 4 straight home games against Everton which would have been the first time we had done this against any team in the top flight.
Defence is an issue but Pearson changing the formation that early did us again. If Chalobah was still on we'd of won.
You are correct delivery from our defense to our forwards is bad. But you also can't say it was just the defenders fault we conceded the two goals from the corners today, all players were defending and failed.
We completely Giraldi’d that match up. Let’s hope he’s gone for the start of our upcoming season in the Championship.
Sounds like Chalobah had a knock at half time but they kept him on to see if he could run it off. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...everton-doesnt-regret-positive-substitutions/
I think that having Success and Pussetto come on for Deulofeu and Pereyra also made it difficult for the rest of the team to follow
Agree-Since the highlight of the semi final win v Wolves it’s only 6 in 31 now and if you include cup games it must be what 7 in 37 so this rot has been baked in for some time now partly alleviated by the Pearson new manager bounce which has now fallen flat
Just saw the highlights. Terrible defending. Two headed goals in injury time? The final goal was in 45+4. I’ve seen players down injured for 5 minutes in the first half and witnessed less injury time than that. Was the additional time deserved? For the final goal, why on Earth wouldn’t Masina or Cathcart take Richarlison out? It would be a yellow if they did it early enough. Awful, awful game management. All in all, I’m glad I spent the day drinking wine and ignoring the result. After the window we’ve had, we’re absolutely ****ed, and if Giraldi/ Gino doesn’t care, then why should I?
