I’m absolutely terrified that I’ve started fully believing. Just like I did before the cup final.

Agree, on current form we should be looking at getting quite a few points out of the next four games, we need to take advantage of our momentum! Certainly don’t want to go into the last two games needing anything!

Agreed, yesterday was the first time for a while that I was nervous/excited for a match.

Man, I actually started going to games like Palace and Man U relatively relaxed, was absolutely bricking it before yesterday even though it was against a Bournemouth side woefully short on confidence!

    Same here.

Already looking forward to Spurs with hope and expectation. This glorious run will end eventually, but it’s magnificent at the minute.

I now expect to get something against Spuds, a point at least , but hopefully another win.

For this season, it does look bleak for Norwich. I do think they would be ready for relegation though, based on comments made at the start of the season. They haven't splashed the cash and looking to be sustainable in the long term. If they got relegated you could see them keeping a large proportion of their team. I don't see that as defeatist, and they have certainly not approached games that way.

Compare that to Villa who seem to have wasted £100m - they really do need to stay up or things could get very costly. They could well end up being saved by some of the teams that are in really bad form at the moment.

Has any team ever been bottom at Xmas and made Europe before?

(apart from Wigan or Leicester winning the cup and being relegated, i didn't mean that way)

We are now out to 3/1 to be relegated which shows the belief that the bookies have we will stay up. On Bet365 we are 16/1 to make the top 10. Now that may be a worthwhile investment.

We are 200/1 with Skybet to make the top 6. We are currently 10 points behind Sheffield United in 6th. Probably too much of a stretch to believe we can maintain this form and finish as high as 6th but that seems very good odds.

No chance of top 6. Top half is doable but will have to beat all the bottom half sides to achieve it I reckon.

I put a bet on at 60/1 as soon as Pearson was appointed for us to finish in the top half. Not looking too wild now.

Can't understand why not but no odds are being offered. We are a mere 17 points off the top 4 which is surely recoverable at this stage.

Seems crazy to think that we are only 10 points behind 6th. Such a difference this run has made.

I honestly think it will continue against Spurs. I would imagine they are looking at the game against us saying a point would be good here.

Something isn’t right at Spurs. It wasn't just Poch, there is more to it for certain. Mourinho coming in hasn’t changed the atmosphere. The players look like they don’t care this season. They are not fighting for each other, body language is all wrong, the whole Eriksen thing is a distraction and Kane out for 3 months is a massive blow for them.

We get the first goal, their heads will drop. Defensively they are all over the place. Sarr and Deulofeu running at them all game is the last thing they will want.

The great escape will continue to roll on.

Top half is definitely doable. Southampton were pretty much level with us in November and they are now just a 9-0 loss away from being top half. If we can maintain this form we would make top 10.

I didn't have quite as much faith as you. The turning point for me was the Wolves win when I managed to get 18/1 on a top 10 finish. I certainly hope you collect on your bet. Probably pays for your season ticket next year.

I told my old man to put money on us staying up before the manure game, (I’m in Canada with limited betting options) said we would beat them and then our odds would drop. Think he done what most dads would do and never listened to me.

Rumour was someone in spuds team had been playing away with another players mrs. Can’t remember where I heard those rumours, might of been on here. But if true they’ve done well to keep the media away from it and it must of caused some unrest.

I reckon it is the same as what happened at Man Utd.

Mourinho? The man is total poison.

I think it's interesting and valid to compare the start of Nigel's reign with the start of 2018/19, during which Javi got us playing as a team and several key players performing as they should be (notably Capoue, Pereyra and Holebas).

We started that season with 13 points in 6 games, same as Nigel has with his first six, but with an easier run of fixtures. We should've done even better, getting at least a draw vs Man Utd and win at Fulham, which I think we would have with Pearson at the helm.

In the end, we got 32 points from the first 22 games last season despite being quite inconsistent after that bright start with a fair few sub-par performances. The same number of points from the last 22 games would be surely be enough to make us safe.

This is what has made me optimistic about the rest of this season, in that Nige has already got us playing at a higher level than we did even at our best under Javi, and while we won't keep this form up throughout, there's plenty of evidence to suggest we should stay up comfortably.

We were a bit lucky against Palace I seem to remember? A draw would have been a fair result?

Was one of those classic Watford early season games where we played OK, with unlikely goals flying in, ie Holebas' cross

The talk that 40 points may this year not be enough may still end up being incorrect. The bottom three are starting to look more and more hopeless. Extrapolate third from bottom Villa’s points over 38 games and they get 34. Obviously Norwich are beating Bournemouth currently, but Bournemouth are dreadful. The key is beating Villa, that puts us on 26 and another 10 points could reasonably be enough IF the bottom three continue being as bad as they are. My point is, beat Villa and I reckon we stay up easily because the bottom three really do look hopeless.

Shame Villa got a point, but actually it keeps Brighton within range

Generally results went well for us today. Hopefully Newcastle and Burnley lose now
