The team is much better balanced with Gray next to Deeney, with Geri on the wing. The Brummies work well together & Geri’s pace is wasted down the middle.

I reckon our best chance of upsetting the Manchesters in the Cup is with Deeney & Gray upfront together.

Better chance of bullying them than out passing them.

Maybe he should spend more time on the pitch.

When we lose, Gomie’s career is over.

    So we’d better keep winning.

Tell that to the Cardiff defence. All of his best performances have come when he's played as a striker, as have most of his goals (Man City being the exception?). In this position he's able to isolate the opposition's left sided centre-half, as he did for those two first half chances today, whereas out wide he can be tracked more easily by the full back. Deeney and Deulofeu up front is working, Gray being used as an impact sub is working, so why change it? The only time I would want to see GD starting out wide is if Javi utilised a 4-3-3, which I doubt he will any time soon.

Fair points but we should aim higher than Cardiff.

I don’t see much link up play between Deeney & Geri.

Many of Geri’s chances are ball over the top efforts. Not v effective against the top teams.

He’s not a natural finisher whereas Gray is instinctive.

Pereyra also seems more effective under the Deeney/Gray regime.

I'd fancy us to beat Brighton so long as we turn up.

The anger that arch nemesis Ettienne "bulldog" Capoue got a goal is amusing from the palace fans.

If he played 81 minutes of all 38 PL matches while keeping up the same scoring rate, then he'd reach 20 league goals in the season.

I'm sure this has already been asked by someone elsewhere, but if Wolves or ourselves won the FA Cup while also finishing 7th, then would 8th place in the league get Europa qualification?

Thought I was recording it, went out to see world of dinasours with my kid, avoided the score till I got home, put it on to find the recording stopped 2 mins before the match started - ******* (was recording stream on pc)

Great to see Gray score and good to see pereya probide the lovely pass that set it up. From what little I have seen Gerry D looked like a handful.

Were we good for the win ?

Got to say - if I had been a 17 year old palace fan supporting them would have joined this lost

The sad thing is there were a few outside chanting and I reckon a few were 50 years old. It was a little laughable 50 year olds dressed in all black on Vicarage road

No. England has 3 Europa League spots for 5th place finish, FA Cup winner (both straight to group stage) and League Cup winner (3rd qualifying round). If the League Cup winner is a CL qualifier or finishes 5th that spot goes to 6th in the league. Then, if the FA Cup is also won by a CL qualifier or the 5th/6th place team, 6th gets the FA Cup spot and 7th gets the League Cup spot.

controlled the first half, with out looking dangerous but seemed to fall apart in the 2nd, but never looked massively threatened.

The absence of Tom Daly certainly helped. I thought Kiko had a fantastic game where as Doucoure and Mapps were well off the pace.

Not the greatest performance but one we go.

Yep correct. Plus who ever qualifies using the next best in the league, to replace the FA or League cup winners, has to go through the qualifying rounds

Win the FA cup then its not an issue

Sounds like Swansea had a bad penalty decision and an offside goal to contend with, let’s hope we don’t get city in the next round .
