…..the following video is Soccer Tavern and a history on Watford, presented by an American.

If you have 10 minutes to spare, it's worth watching, if only for his pronunciation of "Watford" and "Hertfordshire".

Why change the badge for "global growth" reasons? The badge is already unique, recognisable and most football fans around the world will probably know it by now.

Theres no need to change it.

    First 7 mins fine.

Then mention of Rodgers & then the words L*t*n T*wn linger on the screen for a minute.

    Chilling.

Probably get hijacked by Luton fans and end up with a racist in a straw boater on it.

I think a properly designed Hart, in a heraldic style would be OK, however, for nearly 40 years we've had, what is quite clearly, a Moose. It's unquestionably not a hart, but a moose, which has been let loose, about this hoose.

I don't give a **** about the badge. I had to stare hard to recognise the difference between the 2002 and the previous incarnation.

Don't know if anyone's posted this yet, but I found this from someone who fell into the moose trap....

    http://www.enriquealvaradodesign.com/blog/thelbd/watfordfc

    I've seen worse...

    Watford+FC+-BEA+Rebrand5 (2).jpg

I should just add that I don't necessarily think we need a new badge, but having to explain to mates every week that it is not (supposed to be) a moose on the badge does get slightly tiresome

I like the hornet that is the logo for this forum. It would need some sort of background so that it doesn't get lost on a shirt.

Better still, train real hornets to sit on our shirts and sting anything in another colour that comes near.

It’s too soon for a straight Yes/No vote on Moosxit. It’ll lead to project fear based on nostalgia for the past and fear of change from the remainers who want to keep the badge as it is. I know it’s an unfashionable view, but based on recent referendums, I feel we all need to be shown the alternatives first in order to make an informed choice.

This, but without the black half (all yellow background) and the outline switched from red to black, could look classy.

I don't want the shape to change, it's unique and iconic. The moose isn't great though.

It does make us a bit quirky though. You are lucky they don't fall asleep when you are explaining. I can remember in the early 80s my brother and me trying to get the crowd to belt out the refrain'Come on u Moose's', but it never caught on!

It isn't the main reason is it? Surely the main reason is the fact that it has got a flipping moose which should a hart on it, because Watford is in Herts, (even the spelling is wrong) - instead of a hornet.

It is like Swansea having a picture of a whale on their badge as they are in Wales.

Thanks BOTD, that's exactly what I was thinking. Now it's drawn out something about it looks a bit empty, I'm not sure what - maybe keep the original vertical split, but two tones of yellow and lose the white. I think I'm going off on a tangent now!

Agreed it looked a bit empty, tried a 2 shade yellow design and it looks slightly less empty

Moose’s and Herts look similar but Herts are genetically taller, skinnier and their antlers raise higher than a Mooses.

It is more common to see a Hert in s deeper woodland. Although they do look a like, they do not mingle much as two alternate species. Which is to be expected.
