Now find out who he is related to inside the club, because that is the only way his design got to the final. Looking at some of the other entries, how some of them didn’t make it is a joke.
Disappointed this didn’t happen. It would have been enjoyable watching a load of grown blokes shed tears over a departed cartoon moose.
The top picture is the type of Hart emblem that should be used on our badge, not the weird one we have now.
Media being a bit mis leading with their headlines suggesting that club just chose to keep the current one after thousands of entries .
What a load of rubbish this exercise was. I don't think the club any idea of changing the badge. A PR stunt to help remove some focus on the dross on the pitch.
It is stunning that they can divert seemingly so much effort and time and then run such a poor exercise. The badge does need changing and there were dozens that were much better than the current "clown moose" that weren't considered.
Except the idea first came up in the middle of last season when we were flying along challenging for 7th. It's entirely subjective though. Some people want something old fashioned, other want something super modern. Some want a weird muscly bee, others want an scale drawing of a hart. And everything in between on every possible design feature. The outcome was a classic 'decision by committee' leading to no where fast. Did it really cost much effort and time?
Can we see all the designs anywhere? I am reading that the 'winner ' of the new design was an inside job.
Amazed when looking at the list at the variety of names from people seemingly all around the world, probably most never seen Watford play Actually think our existing badge still looks fresh which is amazing since it dates back to the late 70's/80's
I was surprised with my 10 year old daughter and 13 year old son. They were both aghast at the option of changing the badge. In particular the 10 year old who doesn't like football that much, but just loves the atmosphere of football games. I'm not sure I've ever seen her so opinionated on a topic, but that we should keep it because "it is Watford"!
Obviously you went ahead and submitted voted in favour of change on behalf of both of them, like any good parent?
According to the WO the club are going to have some sort of badge which will just be used on the merchandise and marketing rather than club shirts .
Actually thinking more about this it is quite a shrewd move. If they put this logo on they would sell more shirts. Spoiler
Potential winning submission when the topic of new club badge reemerges. (Credit from Foxtalk forum).
